I have just one question about the event Copal, What does it mean that that all Matis must show their 'Badge' of subject? and do you need to be 100 matis fame, or kara aligned?

nkb: He means you only gain entry if your title is set to Matis Citizen/Matis Noble or Karavaneer/Karavan Champion. So you need to be either Karavan Aligned or Matis Aligned

[OOC] ok naema that's true, bit in roleplay fasion, he did state that it was a closed session, and based on history of the game, be it lore, or various rp histories, suggests to me (and i think others) that the matis are always saying one thing and doing something else, even in silan the matis representative is very deceptive and speaks down to everyone that seeks him out (not sure if it's the same for a matis toon, but i'll create a toon and find out later if it's the same or a little nicer welcome). while a matis toon doesn't have to play matis or kara, and can be a beacon of kindness others of the race, that doesn't change the basic fact that matis were programed to be rude, disrespectful, and rather full of themselves. as a citizen of no one land, and being equally famous in all lands with all people, i would like to state that i have killed many kitin and have braved many dangerous treks to save others not so powerful to survive an attack, only to read a well wrote but also well hidden notice of a meeting, one of which i would never have found had i not been waiting for the stable boy to feed my mount. apon it's discovery and reading, i removed the notice, and quickly rode my mount to the jungle, where i asked my brother, talkmor, a guardian of the theocracy, to check with someone official about this notice i discovered in the matis lands, which was promptly addressed by one of the said officials, as yet no official reply has been made to my knowledge. there for i fear that without proper official reply perhaps there's a sinister, deceptive, dangerous, and potentially deadly plan that may be in the works, without knowing more about this meeting, and being welcomed to attend, or at least have a representative from each of the other 3 nations invited to attend, i will continue to fear this unknown that might result from this meeting. though i'm as famous and well known in matis lands as any other, i still find that the matis people in general (not all matis, but more then half) treat me as though they are above me, and i pitty them for being so simple minded and selfish, we must learn to move past the petty differances, or i fear that the kitin will inherit the big tree.

[OOC] i believe that the host of the event is trying very hard to explain that though he stated for the rp reason it was limited, but that they would not deny another player to join (now i may be wrong, but it's how i'm taking what i'm now reading), they're not trying to do anything that's official, just a meeting to plan or discuss ideas, but if this isn't IC, then it should not have been posted in the RP events forum, but perhaps posted in a general discussion thread in the matis forum, because this to me is more like an internal planning event to prepare for a open event that will follow later for everyone to attend. I have received a confusing scroll that might suggest that they DO NOT plan to take any action at this time, but to speak within their own land prior to speaking with the other nations of atys, so that do not come to the other heads of the governing bodies without an outline of what they want to discuss and learn. there for i will remain open minded about what the matis may be doing, and i will hope that these new matis nobles will change the old image of their people and show that they too are willing to grow and change with the times we now live in.

Dear Ser Erminantius, Ser Copal and Filiras of the Kingdom,

As the ambassador of the Theocracy assigned to the Verdant Heights I sincerely apologize for the words of distrust voiced by Zoraï towards your people. Please know that their words only described personal feelings or were used as a tactical means to be allowed to participate at your meeting; so these suspicions are not in line with the opinions of our honored Sages nor the political viewpoint of the Theocracy in total.

I will take care of addressing this matter at the next national Assembly in Zora and of an official apology that shall very likely be written afterwards.

For everyone who does not know:

Matis Nobles from Avalae have proposed - all by themselves without having been asked for this - that Zoraï-scholars should be present at the expedition made to the Upper Bog at the time Goo-Igaras had been sighted there, to examine the Goo in this region and also to keep an eye on the researches done by Matis and tribes there to ensure that respect for nature is kept in mind.

After that I wrote a letter of invitation to our scholars to help out at the Upper Bog, reminding them of our duty to fight the Goo, and I also disclosed this to Sage Sens. Unfortunately none of our scholars found the time to accompany the expedition that was led by the famous royal botanist Cuiccio Perinia. Moreover, Sy-Phi Lin from the dynastic circle did not even care to reply to my letter at all... So in the end I had to apologize for the absence of our scholars afterwards; which was a rather sad turn of events.

Still you can see that believing that the Nobles would use Goo on Kitins - which might spread the infection inside of their tunnels under the bark all over Atys - is pure nonsense. Especially if you consider that the same Nobles have already considered using termites as dangerous means! Even if an inhabitant of the Verdant Heights who does not know about Goo should suggest using it, I strongly believe that the trustworthy Karan Stevano would not permit such risky measures; there is no doubt about this.

Collaboration of Nobles and Zoraï-representatives for the botanical solution:

It has already been mentioned that Filira Salazar Caradini was indeed one of the main speakers during the open-to-all-meetings we had to find a botanical solution for closing the kitin-tunnels, as it was proposed by Awakened Fey-Lin Liang. Filira Caradini's ideas and argumentations were of immense help.

So we Zoraï representatives who are working on this botanical solution are grateful to him, no matter of his current political position. And Filira Caradini still IS a noble, please mind that; because one cannot just "drop" this status, whether he is a political representative at the moment or not.

After Filira Caradini had talked about the botanical solution in Yrkanis and Avalae and found support by many other Nobles some of us Zoraï representatives thought that the botanical solution (that will hopefully include discovering some secrets of Gilado Almati), is a joint-project between Zoraï and Matis.

And it's also a process that all interested homins from all over Atys can be part of, as everyone was and is welcome to participate at all the talks about this topic; like Ranger Companion Daomei Lin Carthan and Seternulon, Chief of Security from Windermeer for example. There is no reason to ban homins from helping out with many procedures that will fight the kitins at the same time, right?

Unfortunately some homins, even Nobles and Zoraï, have not informed themselves about these developments, even though these events had been announced in due time during national Assemblies in Zora, on the information-boards and also directly by world-wide proclamations before they occurred.

In this context I'd like to remind all political representatives to ensure that at least one ambassador be present at our Assemblies of the Circles in Zora to not miss such important announcements. Isn't this why ambassadors are chosen in the first place - to take part at Assemblies of other nations/groups to be informed about what is going on all over Atys? I did not take the troubles and invested quite an amount of time to write detailed public reports of our Assemblies of Zora in the dialect of Min-Cho for everyone to ignore them.

Conclusion:

Well, whatever happened or did not happen - especially in the far, far past that is now almost forgotten and has turned into vague rumors colored by old animosities - shall not prevent hominity from working together to fight the Kitins; even though some of us may use termites, others rotoas, and why not have a third group take another path - as long as all these methods will lead to the same goal (and are not endangering nature)? This is of course only my personal opinion.

Surely some homins will always view one method as more dangerous than other means, and some might even try to convince other groups of different measures - but isn't this completely alright? Different opinions and informations voiced during factual discussions should bring forth a better all-over-understanding for all of us who are interested in learning more about Atys.

I hope that by considering all of this we can now return to talking to each other in a more civilized, respectful way avoid of distrust, hateful prejudice or negative generalizations.
