What difference does it make if someone resells her craft? She has got the price she wanted.

First -- the use of the bug to sell for more than 9999% markup has been punished before. It's an exploit and it is targeting inexperienced players to remove more of their hard earned dappers than is ethical..
Second -- I'm sure for myself, and I'm pretty sure for Lacuna, that when we craft we want the items to be USED, not be turned into a source of dappers (or worse, put up for sale at a ridiculous price and then get taken off the shelves).

ok, here's the thing that's at the root of why lac's upset.

she crafts a nice item, sells it for say 5000% (just a number)
the limit is 9999% (without exploit)
this person is reselling her stuff with exploited price of 20000%

if your a new player with no idea about stats, that new player might think because of the high price many things:
that's a normal "high" price
it's the most expensive so that's got to be the very best

the player selling it is taking advantage of younger unknowing players. (remember your dedicated to helping new players, so this fact should really piss you off at the person doing the reselling, not lashing out at an upset crafter.)

there's so many sides here, but the root is that someone's using an exploit to take advantage of players with less understanding of ryzom's workings. if the person was selling them at the unexploited limit, then i would support your argument that lac got what she asked for and the other guy is just trying to turn a profit. (i don't practice things like that, seems like praying on the less knowing players of the game).

I made a seperate entry because this is a seperate thought.

If Lacuna or anyone gets their money that they ask for and someone else sells it after paying Lacuan/someone else I don't see the problem.

I think that is what capitalism and free enterprise is about. Buy and resell.

Nehrie

Actually that is *NOT* capitalism, but merchantilism.  (It is free enterprise, too.)  Classic capitalism is not possible in Atys because it is not possible to restrict access to raw materials or to constrain labor.

This is true. I have bought the most expensive item thinking it might be the best. Before I realized that players were using the merchants for storing their items.

which ends up being the same thing as an exploiter. Because I see the most expensive item I think it's the best I buy the storage item.

and on that note, there's my post's for guild hall and apartment bulk upgrades (either one time behind the scene changes or a system to buy with dappers "upgrades" or "expansions")

with more privet storage space, the merchants wouldn't be needed for storage, which would then limit it to use by f2p's as a storage system (which is saddly fixed because they can't own an apartment or packers, only a mount, and 600 bulk {bag + mount} only goes so far.

However, I have never been able to convince her to craft anything for me. For dappers mats or loyalty to maras. So losing her crafting doesn't change my world. She contributed/contributes nothing to my world.

She has contributed plenty to "your" world. Many maras have great gear due to Lac's efforts, thereby enriching the pvp experience for all.
Perhaps her reticence to craft for you had something to do with your outspoken views about the game forcing you to dig/craft and your complete derision of those maras who don't pvp but instead prefer other pursuits, who am I to say.

Nehrie
She introduced me to someone who would craft for me. I thank her for that.

My point is you close out me from access to your craft. So what do I care if you ever craft again? You are not effecting my game. Cause you never helped it in the first place.

You just contradicted yourself. And if by "you", you include me, then your memory is short.

Nehrie
I'm sorry if you feel that's mean.

I'm just tired of old timers acting like the whole game will fall apart if everyone doesn't dance to your tune.

I think that is mean.

As others have said, this is about using an exploit in game, causing  disadvantage to others.

Nehrie
Same as how the pvpers left 300 players (so I heard) all at once to teach Ryzom a lesson. Well ty pvpers for trying to destroy the game for everyone else.

I hate to see a talented crafter stopping crafting. There are too few. But since I never had access to the craft in the first place. It's not effecting my game.

You aren't doing anything but attacking me here Mariachia. Which is exactly what you did in PR that day when you invited me to leave the game because I pvp and you apparently think all pvpers should leave the game.

I believe maras are a clan. That makes a family. There is room for everyone in a family.

Crafters, diggers, meleers and magic users.

I don't distain everyone who doesn't pvp. But I also don't want to be invited to leave the game and be denied gear because I do.

I didn't invite you to leave the game- after a long dissertation about how the game wasn't to your liking, you told me you were going to leave  and I simply concurred that maybe you should. And you may think I don't pvp, but it shows again that you don't know what you are talking about.

And it seems you also forget the rant you had in uni where you espoused a very different opinion about crafter/diggers in the mara faction.

Sorry everyone, but this is seriously going off tracks. If you have things to tell each other, please use a /tell. That's better for everyone.

Thanks.

#32 [en]

We will sanction players using the mark-up exploit when selling items at the merchants and feel free to ticket cases you come across. I trust you to get the discussion back on track in an orderly fashion and without mud slinging. Have a nice and dirt free Atysmas!

Guess I'm a little slow.

Is there a bug that let's you charge more than 9999% for an item. Is that what a ticket will be wrote for?

Or are people going to be punished for buying any item and then reselling it?

Ex: I buy helmet for 100 dappers and resell for 200 dappers.

Would I be punished for that?
