Just remember that your had an influx of players because of a pandemic

you should look at the facts.

the game was designed to be played in a way that everyone can target one persons target and follow a leader, we have a macro system that enables that, anyone who refutes this doesnt understand the mechanics of the game.

ingame tools are provided so that 8 individual players in a team can target the team leaders target, follow heal and nuke all in 3 keys.

you only need three buttons and a mouse to play this game if you use the ingame macro system

so the questions regarding multiple toons should be.

1. how many accounts are registered to the same email
2. how many are paid for by the same person. (credit card)
3. how many of these are still active
4. how many pandemic subs did you gain or will lose as people go back to work.

here is my personal point of view:

pre merger i ran an entire guild where everyone was taught the macro system, everyone had a role to play in PvP and PvE, we used voice communication and everone only needed three keys for outpost wars as part of any position they played in the team. We won 99.9% of our battles, the key was teamwork, voice communication and understanding the mechanics of the game.

i can say this without a doubt that anyone playing 4 characters at once is at a disadvantage when playing against a well organised opponent team unless they have team of individual players backing them up.

I agree with NItrouss. That's why I said all or nothing because to reduce the number of alts down to one just seems too convenient and a lazy solution. If people are taking the time to level and pay for these accounts because that gives them enjoyment they should have the right to be heard just as the people who complain about it. This has gone on for years, we come and go, OPs always end up changing hands once the sides figure out what to do. This doesn't affect me at all but I had to agree with Nit on this one. you don't wnat to use the mechanics yet complain about someone that does?
you have the same ability. you can ask 3 other members in your team or guild to do the same... your target will die instantly. they can set it all up in 3 keys.
you can even nuke and heal in 1 button.

its not quite the same as you make it seem, lets be fair, sure they 'can' achieve the same but the difficulty of simultaneous cooperation is non existent when being a solo controller, be it speed, timing or reaction time, when dependent on multiple minds working in sync vs single person.
communication delay alone is a disadvantage.

Yeh bucs.. learn game mechanics... lol.. Thanks Nit but we know a bit more than just macroing to either heal or nuke on 1 button although golly gosh that really is impressive!

The days of 50 people in a guild are gone.. Try 25 people in a faciton. Try 25 people in a faction against what should be even numbers but because of alts turns into fighting 50+. As I have stated before we have won against those odds and lost against those odds but win or lose it all comes back to the same thing.. a massive alt heal pod at OP wars is boring, sucks and turns OPs into a spam fest (but from the sounds of it you are well versed in spam fests). Sure it brings the challenge of how can we wipe that pod which is why pretty much all of us are launcher masters and still manage to wipe double our numbers but OPs should be more about skill not just how many alts you can sub, log and spam 1 on.

Nobody remembers when the OP battles were actually organized. You can say they are now but this is the reason I don't play them anymore. It's boring. We had multi guilds in voice chat and it worked out. I think it's more fun to learn how to beat something rather than just play Post Malone, just saying. If people learned to have an open mind rather than just shoot things down because they don't agree with it, we wouldn't be where we're at. This "friendly" community refuses to have an actual debate and just passes judgement when they don't agree with someone. Good luck!!!!

Ya probably could assign a team to deal with the clones instead of going hero 1v4 too. I don't know. I just don't think dig 1000000000000000 mats for launchers and complain about alts on forum is very constructive either. If you want to come to an OP you will see we are organised and wiping double our numbers on low threshold rounds and trying out lots of different tactics- but as I said previously Bones, it's not about winning or loosing. Just from my point of view OP wars are 1000% more fun without alts and when they involve tactics other than just button smashing, likewise this has been mirrored speaking to other players across all factions. In my ideal world all alts would be banned from OP wars and would be allowed in PVE.. but heyho its the devs that dropped this bombshell one everyone, this is just a place where people can share their opinions :)

I hear ya. I had to come here to say my useless piece though. It doesn't affect me since I'm just here to see what happens next. I hope everyone has an enjoyable time but to me one alt is the same as eight. My fun is chatting with you all and playing on forums. Some like to play many characters. Others excell in 1v1. We all have different views of fun so I would hope we can find an honest solution is all rather than just take someone's joy.

I completely agree with might virg and buckshot,
Everyone should play the game as specified virg and buckshot, nobody should use an alt even if they want to pay for more accounts, if anyone plays the game differently they should be driven out of the game.
OPs should be a solo pvp challenge so a faction of 25 players can beat them.
These guys can really teach us a lot about building a community and a family/guild :)
What would I know I only spam one button! :D
