Hello fellow Ryzomers!

I started a little project to make an Android app for Ryzom.
This app utilizes the new api, and lets you do stuff like browse character and guild inventory.
It is still in an early phase, and I will keep working on improving it :)

The app can be found on the market here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.byweb.ryzom& hl=en

I will update this post here with incoming suggestions and their state of development until released.

* [idea] App "beeps" when closing to season change.

Oh, and in case anyone wonders, it communicates directly with the new official api, so if they makes changes the app can break.

just downloaded the app and it looks pretty good. I will have to play a little more with it to get comfortable using it though.

one question though, is there a way to delete an api key from the app? i could not find a way to do that and entered a wrong key. now that incorrect key is sitting in the app and is not functional

Heya, all those kind of lists in the app, where you dynamically can add things, you should be able to swipe the item to the right to remove it.

Edit: From the 0.4.0 version this is no longer the case. To delete a key, just click it, and it will ask you to confirm before it is deleted.

have you considered an option to add more then one set of keys? some players are know for having an alt (or 20) for a guild hall (since we're limited on the bulk of an apt and gh on the main toon and need to create more accounts to store things we need), this could be the best thing to happen to ryzom, since being able to view all these inventories in one place would cut down on things being lost in the multitude of accounts would be helpful beyond imagination.

(or the powers that be could just give us the option i've been after for over a year now, one that other's have sought for years and years, to be able to upgrade bulk and slot's for apt's and guild halls, if they ever do that, players won't need 20 accounts to store things with. and i'm still yet to hear a good reason not to just add this feature, if anyone thinks they have a good one, please find my idea thread and give me your best shot, i'm armed to the hilt with fact to prove my idea has merit)

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

talk I was able to give in the keys for Suboxide,Subox and Cookies Monsters and GoS (for some reason HO's can now generate a GH key think that wasn't possible with the old api); it didn't limit me to just one char and key so might take you some time but you could porbably give in all keys for all your alts

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

Good thoughts. You can add more guilds / characters, yes. But atm you have to swap between them to be able so see the different content. I will try to make a way to view them all combined (and also keep the option to look individually), with a note on what is located where.

Would be nice! The app is written be able to install to an iPhone also.

But there are some issues. I am a Linux user, and Apple (as far as I know) require you to be on a mac to compile apps for iOS. I have no iOS device to test on, and they also charge $99/year even to publish free apps.

That said, there is an option. If someone have a Mac, a iOS device (preferably multiple), a dev account (or want to pay $99/year), and have some experience, and would like to assist here, an iOS app could be made.

(paying to have a free app hosted, sounds like something ONLY apple would do)


thanks for the info about the different inventories for different toons, good to know, time to grab the old tablet and make it have good use again :)

Why no item icons? It's easy to render them client side using canvas ;-)

(you also seem to be packaging some extra files that are not needed)

I did not know that was possible, does it require the users to jailbreak their phones? (I would still need someone to pack and test).

Yes, experimenting with some different versions of the framework and such. Probably other files that is not needed to. Will clean that up before version 1 is released :)

I used firefox in linux. I just unpacked apk, deleted cordova.js and cordova_plugins.js (they platform specific), and opened assets/www/index.html (works both in http:// and file:// paths)

You can get them from here (zip).

Text is rendered using individual char image files. There is '*_mask.tga' files that are colorized and used for icon colors (ie, armor, flowers... you might want to pre-render or at least cache these)
Armor color RGB values can be found in config.xml ('armour_color_0' .. 7 ids)
