The Marauders are players too. They have trouble doing any occupation at present, so why not give them their own?

One of these 2 new Occupation would be the Taming and Trapping. I have made a post on another thread about this, then i got to think. Why don't i make my own thread about 2 occupations that i had in mind and give them to the Marauders?

Taming and Trapping.
It would consist of 3 parts like all existing Occupations.

Part 1 = Certificate 1 Trap Mechanism. Craft ear rings, Pistols, brecelets, Rifles. q10, 20, 40, 60, etc.
Part 2 = Certificate 2 Trap Bait. Get; Bodoc pelvis, Yubo Pelvis, q10, q20, forage Cereal, Flower Petals, q10 q20,
get; Mektoub pelvis, rendor pelvis q40 and up, forage Big leaf, Insects q40 and up

Part 3 = Practice trade. Same way would have recipes etc. would reward with a TOKEN of captured animal (could be used also as feed for animals that would be slightly more powerful then concentrated feed)

These tokens then could be given to the Occupation master in exchange for a mount.
5 Tokens = Mektoub Mount
15 Tokens = Rendor Mount
30 Tokens =Messab Mount
50 Tokens =Gnoof Mount

For now i would not include more, as this would be a good basis for future expansion.

The second Occupation is more closer to home for Marauders.

Gun Running.
This too would consist of 3 parts like all existing Occupations and this would be the "Master level" occupation for the Marauders.

Part 1= Certificate 1. Craft Pistol, Rifle, Pistol Ammo, Rifle Ammo; q10 20 40 60 etc.
Part 2= Certificate 2. Deliver crates of ammunition and guns to various tribes in the Prime Roots.
Part 3= Practice your trade. Various Recipes that would reward an Ammo Depot item, that if consumed would increase dodge for a short time.


While we are at this why not give them also some New Horizon guy, that they can trade the items with for dappers and negative fame points and teleport crystals? After all, even a New Horizon guy may turn Marauder one day...

sorry I am no occupation person.. but it would be interesting to allow maras to do some dapper, faction points occupations. +1 for the idea if not implemented yet.

upper branches ideas have occupations as a part of them, and they would be mara friendly as well, since the upper branches would be a free land where mara could come and go freely in the cities of the upper branches.

once all the forum merging is done i'll bump a few of my ideas so that they can be seen by the non-ari players and i can finally get their thoughts on them.

upper branches has everything, occ's, missions for all, merchants for all, even has idea's for rites and so much more, the main idea has links to all the sub ideas, i've also wrote the role play stories that could be part of the lore to explain how after all this time we are just now finding out about the upper branches.

i do like the ideas here as well, but let's make them open occ's, that are not based in a city at all but in the "wild" where everyone mara or otherwise could do them. we need to get away from thinking only about faction A or faction B, and start thinking about the game as a whole, if ryzom had 1000's of players then it would be more logical to cater to factions, but as it is, we ALL need new content, and less reasons to argue about one faction or another.

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.
