Because complexity creates and maintains interest. The choices of the factions that select for TP's the selection of Nations that say where you can place your apartment, the changes of the seasons, the "weather", ... etc.

If you're talking about interpersonal complexity, however, I have no answer.

That's not accurate Lilz, I had bad experiences with the so called Kami Alliance back on Arispotle; this isn't an issue that has only arisen since the merge. Those experiences are one of the reasons I went faction neutral post merge.

I have always said that I will team with / heal anyone from any faction; however OP Battles are an exception and I will not team up against Matis / Karavan. This has recently become complicated with some Marauders siding with different factions - I have fought with and against the same Marauders at different battles. This is all fine in terms of RP but yes, it is complicated.

It's not about making it complicated. This goes way beyond only complicating matters, it ruins my gaming experience. If I didn't have a sub for a year I would be considering quitting the game altogether.

In my opinion, refusing to heal other homins, much more verbally attacking those who do, is hard to justify even roleplaywise. Both religious factions command their followers to attempt to convert other homins. That can hardly be done without staying in contact.

Clearly, marauders are considered their own lawmakers as long as they are strong enough, they may comply with this conduct or not. Further on, extremist roleplay may justify individual aberration from these principles. Harrassing others and trying to force them to do likewise is clearly in violation of the CoC.

when i say complicated it was a simple way to sum up exactly what others have posted here following my post.

i'm saying that it take things way too far.

sera and virg, i love that you want more mara, and you know i'm a devout kami when it's called for structure wise (op's and sn's) but the rest of the time i'm just a guy wanting to play a game with friendly people.... that being said, people that try to force me to play their way do not fit in what i consider friendly. that doesn't prevent me from playing with them, it just prompts me to inform them that i can play with them, but that i won't ONLY play with them (for the non structured parts of the game)

uber strict roleplay works for some, but ryzom is a small game, and that strickness can hurt that famous "balance" some people like to talk about. i have to wonder is it fun for those strick rp players to try to force those of us that are not strick rp's to become strick rp players? we don't have to all play strictly to support our side when it's needed, we can do that as needed without being rude and forceful to each other.

besides everytime i play with a non kami player doing pve related stuff, i might have the chance to convince them of their foolish ways and convert to the path of enlightenment that ma-duk has given us.

The point I was making is that Marauders do not have any people trying to impose their own roleplay on others. Granted we had a few hiccups and clashes early on- but this is all sorted now and largely down to poor communication to begin with. This is shown by the fact that many members of Syndicate happily team with different factions and even have recently fought alongside Karavan at OP wars.

We do have some more serious roleplayers such as Maxxye and Mithian. They will not fight alongside Karavan and they are free to follow their own roleplay. The point is that they do not try to enforce their roleplay on us.

Was just saying Marauders are an option where people are free to roleplay as they choose. There is also a number of other game-balancing reasons that one might join the Marauder Organization, along with the ability to have a massive degree of freedom of following your own roleplay (Marauders in GoS and Marauders in Syndicate for example have two big differences in roleplay- but both are still Marauders).

We will hunt with whom we want. We will train with whom we want. If you require a RP explanation, understand, one can be fabricated. As a Kami guild, only 2 Bosses have been deliberatley stolen from us, and both were from fellow Kamies. Understand also, i consider it within my RP to kill these Kamies in PvP PR or any others who fancy Boss theft. RP is good, but not all in my faction are good(Uniform for all factions), so is simple to understand that peeps will have interaction/hunting/training with other factions....If RPers push too hard...maybe we see like factions attacking each other for real...
