IDEAS FOR RYZOM

ok, i like to read the forums, and i want to read what everyone has to say regardless of the language they speak and type. google won't help me translate pages from the forum because of i don't know why, but it says they don't support the link i'm using, apon further digging on google, i found this:

if the forums was set up with this, everyone could translate pages into the language they can read, thus the sharing of information could be done much simpler for all of us, so how about we try to get this added to the forums so we can all have the same one, thus increasing the interaction between the active player base at least on the fourms.

I just went to http://translate.google.com/ and entered http://app.ryzom.com/app_forum/index.php?page=topic/view/18361/1# 1 in the left box, clicked on the blue translate button and got the French part translated (not the German one though because the French one came first)

Jamys, it can be done that way, but Talkirc is suggesting a way to make it easier for us to see the translation immediately.  

At the moment the different languages still have different Forums.  Ideally there would be only one Forum for all languages, and players of all languages could read and post in the same thread.  An instant translation facility would make this more user-friendly.

Jamys, il peut être fait de cette façon, mais Talkirc suggère un moyen de le rendre plus facile pour nous de voir la traduction immédiatement.

Au moment où les différentes langues ont encore différents forums. Idéalement, il devrait y avoir qu'un seul forum pour toutes les langues, et les joueurs de toutes les langues savaient lire et poster dans le même thread. Un service de traduction instantanée rendrait cette plus convivial.

Jamys, kann es auf diese Weise gemacht werden, aber Talkirc ist eine Art vorzuschlagen, um es einfacher für uns, um die Übersetzung sofort zu sehen.

If you look on the Dev Roadmap you will see that the combination of the Forums is actually on the list (albeit at 0%) This idea was brought up before and sent to the devs and apparently they have accepted it. (I looked for the forum thread but couldn't find it. :( ) (Found it! http://app.ryzom.com/app_forum/index.php?page=topic/view/17003/1

In addition the idea of allowing for translation of a forum to the language of your choice was brought up here: http://app.ryzom.com/app_forum/index.php?page=topic/view/17007/1 . That would clearly be a critical part of combined forums.

thanks bittty, knew they were planning on merging the forums, but wasn't sure in any way about translation issues or plans, i've already seen threads with multiple languages posting in the same single thread, having to bounce back and forth to google all the time is a pain in the neck to translate each and every thread posted on a topic. maybe we'll be lucky enough to find out it's all part of the plan.
