It came to my attention this week that someone is exploiting the price mechanism on the traders to sell gears made by me at twice the max price that is legally possible. I know these gears have been sold in FH and Zora.  I only ever sell in Forest through Lacuna, Babel or Darma.  If you have bought anything made by me elsewhere you have been ripped off!  Yes I am annoyed - mainly because people have mistakenly thought I am the seller.  Yes, the crap I sell is overpriced and the feathers fall off after a few weeks, but I am not a greedy, exploiting scumbag!

I no longer craft for free or a fee for anyone now.

damn, now i can't get stuff with sparkles and feathers that's worth anything.

sad to see this happen, we've almost totally lost GoS crafting network (many have went to other games, at least for the time being) now we're loosing the lost girls craft network as well.

since the best gear in ryzom can only be made by players, (and the merchant offerings aren't even in the same area of goodness, crap gear will be the lowered standard for players without mats, craft skills (or access to those with the skills needed), and recipes for good gear.

(personally i think the merchant gear up too Q200 should have stat's at least at 75%, since even poor player crafted gear can hit this level fairly easy. likewise the merchant gear should offer HP bonus.)

so i say thank you to the piece of yelk poo that ruined the ever shrinking group of players that craft to sell on the merchants.

i hope that dead dolls will open up shop on the forums, selling directly from player to player on request. (dead dolls can enslave a foolish male to keep track of buyers, that will help to notice if any of them are re-selling items at higher rates. the dolls can also lure other foolish males with feathers and sparkles to check the markets every few days for any items sold person to person suddenly on the open market.)

i should also mention that some of the GoS crafters stopped crafting for the same reason as lacuna.

this is a very detestable act of someone trying to get "rich" off others hard work and efforts.

given the size of the community of ryzom, this is a huge blow to the player base. (if we had a WoW sized player base this would never be an issue, or likely noticed at all, but then again, in WoW the good gear can be bought or won, and the same with the best stuff from what i've been told.)

should also note that if you see something for sale at insane prices from me, i'm not selling it, i'm storing it, given the limited (and non-upgradable storage we have) sometimes using the merchants this way is the only stop-gap other then dozens of alts (f2p's with mounts = 600 bulk) and f2p held guildhalls. i can't wait for steam to come along, and once they hit the wall of storage limits, i'm sure my old posts about upgrades will get lot's of hits, posts, and if the poll was still active, lot's of votes. even if they just made a change to the current defaults, that would be a huge step forward. (gh with bulk of 100,000 and 25,000 slots; apts with bulk of 20,000 and 5,000 slots for example.) i personally love to not need armies of alts for basic storage.

I do get a little worried when giving out free stuff to new players that I've never met. Usually just adding the message "Crafted especially for <player>" ensures that if I see it in resale I'll know who the culprit is. But possibly we could suggest improvements to the resale system? I know the Blackmarket only allows the actual crafter to auction the item, maybe this can be applied to resale?

What if a poor soul just tries to learn a leaving as a free, traveling trader?

Placio's idea of a personal inscription is perfect for those crafters who want to make sure.

There's no need for cities to further regulate their own traders.

Happened to me once that I know of - reported it - no idea what happened after that ...

They were selling at over the 9999% level profit and being as I got a 3 day ban for storiing mats on traders at that price - hope they got at least that as well

I asked you to craft for me before Lacuna. I offered whatever price you wanted.

I believe you told me you would craft only LA. And i needed to get the mats.

Personally, not feeling the loss of you stopping crafting.

However, if it upsets you someone resold your items. I am sorry you are upset.

I agree with unnecessary, but mean spirited? Meh. I think it's a little abusive to charge money to craft when the player must provide mats, but I thought this was mostly a RP offer since marauders are poor.

So dappers may have been offered, but as you can see were not required in this instance. However, it is hard to craft LA without mats.

i've never been charged if i provided the mats. (by anyone, lost girls [lacuna / marichia] or any other guild / player)

if however i didn't have the mats, then i made an offer to pay for gear, sometimes i paid, sometimes i was given my items.

this is true for both f2p gears and master 250 gears.

most master crafters are happy to craft an item for you if you have the mats.

my issue with this loss is that the merchants resale tab will have less items of good quality, anyone can craft an item, but crafting one with good useful stats is a long way from just being able to craft.

loosing the good crafters that put the effort in to craft the good stuff and then sell it for less then max (9999%) means newer players see less good stuff worthy of their dappers.

Yup, my bad. My confusion was from the anecdote Nehrie provided and Lacuna's phrasing "I no longer craft for free or a fee..."

I'm sorry if you feel that was mean spirited.

As far as I know Lacuna is a good crafter. From what I see in the Bazaar and by reputation.

However, I have never been able to convince her to craft anything for me. For dappers mats or loyalty to maras. So losing her crafting doesn't change my world. She contributed/contributes nothing to my world.

She introduced me to someone who would craft for me. I thank her for that.

My point is you close out me from access to your craft. So what do I care if you ever craft again? You are not effecting my game. Cause you never helped it in the first place.

Same as how the pvpers left 300 players (so I heard) all at once to teach Ryzom a lesson. Well ty pvpers for trying to destroy the game for everyone else.

I hate to see a talented crafter stopping crafting. There are too few. But since I never had access to the craft in the first place. It's not effecting my game.
