f2p votes should say alot here when it's a paid feature they're asking to upgrade, because a f2p alt can't have an apt or GH so it's an option that could maybe one day get them paying money to have.... think about that my friends, someone getting something for those of us that pay to play, sounds good to me, lolx.

ALL VOTES COUNT

please keep it going, regardless of if it seams "dead" it's still getting hits when i check on it. so keep posting and voting please.

I fail to see the logic why the capability of upgrading the appartement would convince a f2p player to subscribe? If packers, and the appartement aren't reasons to subscribe in the first place, how would the option to upgrade the appartement help?

Let's not go down that road in this thread. But there have been so many discussions already about what we need to improve to convince f2p players to subscribe, and I think that whole discussion is ridiculous. There's no cheaper mmo than Ryzom to my (limited) knowledge, and I could have played the past two years completely for free if I wanted to because I did not really make much use of any of the subscription benefits.

If you want to change anything in the game, argue with game mechanics. Convince people about the improvement in gameplay, mechanics, motivation, balance, etc. The argument that we might possibly eventually maybe get one more subscription is overused. I apologize for the harsh reaction. It's just my 2 cents. I don't vote here at all, I don't think this is important in any way.

#29 [en]

didn't really mean it quite that way, that this would intice a f2p to sub, i was just pointing out that the f2p votes are kind of silly because they don't own apt's to upgrade, yet they voted too, it would be a nice upgrade.

a solo subbed player might really love to have the bulk of a gh, because they play solo with little or no interaction from other homins, not needing to buy / sell stuff they may not speak to npc's other then trainers and the mission givers. (i played like that for about a year, i was my own everything, did it all in silan, massed a fortune, could craft anything i needed, ect, just always wanted to be able to store mat's for the future, not knowing that wasn't something i could do in silan, in silan the missions expire and that sucked, but on to ML.)

now i need help because of the design, ok, i like that, i'll make friends (i have) i'll join a guild (i have) i'll help others whenever i can (i have), now i want to stockpile goodies in my apt, i'm subbed i want to store stuff, i pay for something like that, i'm not asking them to just give me 10,000,000 (10m) bulk and 100,000 (100k) slots, i'm asking them to make it so i can work towards that, buy having a bulk upgrade, most games don't even have a limit, and it's because they're GAMES, and games are not susposed to mimic real life exactly, somewhat i can agree with, but let's keep some fantasy in the darn game.

You are right to say let us pay for more space. I voted yes to this idea but there have to be limits.

I would love to have unlimited bag space too to carry around all my gear and I would love to be able to change armour and jewel sets in one click. This would make the game too easy. For everything that helps you in the game there has to be a cost, a situation that forces you make a choice, because that is what games are all about.

thank you so much for your thoughts and vote. i can even live with a bag limit to carry on my person, same with packers, but let's make it so that homin's who would like to have the space in an apartment be at least an option, not a standard, something you can buy for your apt. the it's a dapper sink (both on the player and guild if guild's can also upgrade bulk in gh's)

please keep this going, let's get this.

i don't think that "unlimited" bag bulk is the answer.

first off if they did that, then no one would need an apt or gh.

second to that, this is something that would be of use to paying, subbed accounts, where as the unlimited bag would be of use to f2p toons. (there have to be good reasons to sub, or wg would make no money)

finally, this is a dapper sink for higher lvl'ed toons to increase space in which to store stuff in one place.

and i know that given enough time a toon could aquire enough bulk to feel as though it was unlimited, with eventual full stacks of mats, thus there should be a limit on slots to hold this back, say a max of 30,000 (30k) slots, that's alot of stuff no matter how you look at it, and with a slot limit like that, then it's up to using the bulk up as you buy it, trying to fill up 30k slots, that would in theroy take a single toon years to fill (my best guess, my dig isn't very high, go figure, i hunt mat's, but i still want more bulk to store them)
so why not, i can't understand why this would be anything anyone that didn't want it would notice, as they just wouldn't invest the dappers to do it. and then there are those like me, that would love to store up more, i want to play around with the crafting, so i want to have a huge pile of mat's to do it wish, then one day i'll have a good "cook-book" with the ability to do something of use to myself, as well as my ability to help others.
for that matter, with the mat's in bulk, one would be able to help others, perhaps they just need a random mat you have, and you have a pile, well, sell them one for cheep, or be generous and give it to them. so why not give us a good dapper sink, something we could all use and enjoy.

perhaps i can get some ideas from the dev's, as they would have to have something to do with this, hell anyone that's doing any kind of coding for the game, tell me if what i'm asking for is too much, perhaps you can explain to me if this is the simple thing i see it as, or a adversely complex process that would take a intel sized team of programers and big blue to make it happen.

so lay it on me, let's have some constructive additions to this single idea, adding apt space, i've heard some con's of the idea, while i don't agree, i do see what they're trying to say, i just don't quite understand, how is this a bad idea, and where does it harm players or gameplay?

and if your all for this idea, read over the good points in the thread, post additions and/or new points, i would love to hear the thoughts of the supporters of this idea, so i can make a more dedicated push to getting something we want.

i still wish i could get this posted in other languages to share with the other players, and get an over-all ryzom wide opinion on this idea, too bad i can't seam to find the help i need for that... yet.
and sooner or later maybe we'll get all the old suff back so they can really start working on the new ideas like this one.

been a long time since i was able to drop in on the forums, i've seen since being back that the views have went up, but the votes are about the same, i guess that at this point people are tired of the idea, or have an army of alt's to use, or one man guilds to use as storage, but i still think this would be a very simple and useful upgrade, i would rather spend the dappers on upgrades, as aposed to making alt's to use a pack mules, who wants to have 50 f2p alt's to hold a ton of mat's or gear, not to mention keeping track of all the items that each alt would have, is this really asking too much of the dev's to work on? how hard is it? someone tell me that and i'll really stop pushing this, but everyone i talk to that has knowlage about this type of stuff, says it doesn't sound too hard, but the dev's (maybe there's only 1 or 2 of them and thats why we never get anything, they're over worked) are always busy with everything else to look at some of the ideas we post.

I think its because after a while many people realize that most of the stuff they saved really doesn't need to be saved. Things we save .... reason we stop saving.

Kill mats ..... more efficient to dig, so sell
Old gear ..... never gonan use it again
Dig mats .... craft off / sell at hawker
Dig mats .....store on vendor

that's true freddy, but i have no idea what to keep and what to toss, as i'm sure some of it is good to use for crafting, and i'd like to play with crafting receipes to learn what's the best, and i don't know if kipee craft is really a good way to play without wasting mats ingame, also, if KC is good to play with for a close idea of what you get in the end when crafting in game, you'll still need the mat's to craft with, and i'd hate to sell mat's that i'll need, so i like the idea of having more bulk to store them with, and without a slot's upgrade as well, you do have a limit as to how many different things you can keep just not a much a limit as to how many. (untill that is you reach a full stack of one mat, then you would eat a 2nd slot for the next stack.) though i don't plan to have a stack of 999 of any one mat, maybe say 100 of each mat, but that will eat up bulk as well. as someone posted here in the past, they want to get 1 of every mat, and they run out of slots with lot's of bulk left.

It's very easy to see what to keep and what to toss using Arc's database which is now available as an in game app. Mats have two uses .... make good stuff and make grind stuff. Grind stuff you shud grind off eaach day. Good stuff ya savetill have have ya ingredients list full and then ya make ya thing.

Kipeecraft is great .... no need to have all mats if ya got that.... just go for the ones in ya fav recipe

I think HA eats most mats, so for experimenting, at most you'd have to collect 9 items of 5 wood types, for a total of 22.5 bulk. Well, times 5 if you want to have all grades at the ready, although I'm yet to hear basic being used in anything. With a bit of juggling, you can store most everything in your apartment, nevermind the packers.

Although, when factoring in your personal items - 3/4 sets of armor, 2/3 sets of jewelry etc .. yeah, I see how things can get cramped really fast.
