I took this screenshot before my last run because even tho the random crashes and rampant cheating were frustrating I still enjoyed running the mek race this year, and I am proud of my effort with the 3rd best legit time :) Still, someone needs to represent Kara and show these Kamis how its done lol.

I have to say congrats to Andrinop with the best legitimate time in the race and Hechicera with the 2nd. I hope you both enjoyed it as much as I did.

For the record my current time of 49:35 was done on 8 mektoub mounts using 5 alts positioned at 7 locations which took well over 2 hours and 3 Jim Beams to set up. If anyone from the event team would like more details in the interest of better preventing cheating in future mek race events please feel free to mail me, I am more than happy to help.

I have sent an email to the event team regarding how cheating was possable,I refuse to do so myself but have enjoyed the race none the less. Gives a rush like being back in the game for the first time

Just some notes:
1. I too did the race, more for tun while patrolling the world, and expectably did not even make the top 50. I did neither see nor was in any way interested in ways to cheat. Clearly it is a good idea to report possible exploits. Yet it appears wierd to me to waste hours with tons of alts to figure out new cheating methods.
2. This is not the roleplay forum. Factional slander is OT and not in compliance with forum rules.
3. Blaming other players not to have won their rank honestly is a flagrant violation oft forum rules. Suspicions of cheating have to be reported to the CSR for inquiry.

I dont believe my post or my actions have broken any stated rules or terms of use, and I didnt spend any time looking for ways to cheat. I spent many hours running the race and comparing possible routes cutting my time down further and further and apart from random crashes thoroughly enjoyed it :) but thank you for sharing your opinion.

i see NO slander, just someone who's kara talking about being kara, and cracking a friendly joke. (beefy might be a silly kara, but i'm a smelly kami, and i saw nothing the required Ranger policing.)

(i didn't take part in the race, so i can't say about the main topic, but the policing struck me as just confrontational without need)

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

By knowing the competitors and watching the progress of the race. Most people cant tell which is pretty much the point of this post. I felt those still racing deserved to know which times are legit and which are not.

Yenno rofl the post you are referring to was about something completely different and as I recall it was to do with being ticketed constantly. If your time was legit, congrats but sorry I dont buy it. I havent ticketed anyone because my use of the word "cheating" here is based on my interpretation of the spirit of the race rather than any stated rules being broken. I would say 99% of the people running the race would agree on my interpretation which includes a lot of those cheating.

Basically, I saw a distinct lack of Karavan representation in those ranks and saw it as a challenge being issued. You guys dictated the terms of the race. Dont get all hurt now just because you lost ;)

I think the only way to know if a run is legit is for CSR to check in logs if a TP has been done during the race (for the record there is enought time to TP and quickly buy or exhange a new mount)

I guess it's a quite heavy and boring task. It's a pity that at every races the rules are bypassed, despite efforts to set up controls.

I suggest to cancel the rewards for this year.

Being a mounted race, it should be self evedent that one should run the whole race.
IF you could run in a straight line between check points, it would still take, based on the speed of a Mek, 45 mins. assuming the scale of the map was correct and my measuments too, the race in a straight line not withstanding portals is around 27km. at around 1min 40 secs per km thats 45 mins.

Given that you cant run in a straight line, you could safely add 20 mins to the minumum time ( Just an estimation) giving an over all time of 1 hour 5 mins theoretically possible.

Just becuase an action does not kick you from the race does not mean it is an acceptible pratice.

I chose to be straightforward about my actions for the sake of those still running. My last legit time is screenshotted in this post because im proud of it. Tiximei already stated that this is the event teams problem, so dont expect any CSR intervention.

While the out come of an event, and any cheating during that. May be up to the event team. How they deal with it, be it disallow the time that are impossable, or some other action. I think that it is foolish to pressume that any possible violations of the Code of Conduct  would not be delt with.

Given the nature of the race gathering the prerequisite proof would be very hard to obtain. It would be a logistic night mare. One would have to know when to be at the spots to gather the screen shots.
