Added:
Ragus
Mektoub - Keeping this one in scale really made its cost go up O.o
and I'm still working on the kitin for the most part but most are up without textures.

Just completed a Custom Character 3D print and I'm going to see if I can get a Vorax 3D FIgurine completed!

A question: Could the un-colored ones be painted with standard model-painting acrylic or oil-based enamels? Since I don't know the material they're made out of, I'm asking. If so, then people could paint their own Kipeeketh.

All materials are listed here: http://www.shapeways.com/materials/?li=t_menu and you can select the exact material on top of the product (at least that was the case for the Yubo I've had a look at)

But since all the materials mentioned are plastic of some kind any paint that's not aggressive (no solvent/thinner involved) should work well if it stays on plastic.
I've seen lots of explanations on how to get acrylic paint to stick on plastic (clean very well, mix paint with glue, ...) This description sounded the most promising to me: http://www.3dprintingera.com/painting-3d-prints-pla-nylon/

Hiya bitty, jarnys answered it well but White Strong and Flexible and the Frosted Detail (Ultra)are the recommended materials for painting. Each one has its own characteristics, one of those is that frosted detail plastics are VERY expensive unless hollowed out. I personal haven't tried painting them but I have two old swords and a small spaceship. My only complaint with strong and flexible plastics is they always have plastic powder residue on them. While many use them for bracelets/earrrings/and many other things I'm still hesitant how I work with it.

Sandstone/Metails/Detail Plastics are my favorite materials for figurines but each one has its own limitations and expenses. On that note as far as I know no one has tried to manually paint a regular Sandstone figurine so I can't be sure of the outcome(my quick search didn't result in any good info).

Once I can get the normal (alphaless) textures I'll be able to fix that with many of the Figurines. With that in mind I will hopefully be able to fix it soon.
