Hello All!

This post aims to help the Ryzom community to be able to switch 'fast and easy'
from marauder faction to Neutral/Kami/Karavan.

I have recently moved from marauder faction to another faction, so I have all the
steps fresh in my memory.

In order to protect those that want to figure it out on themselves I have hidden the
tutorial.

If you spot any mistakes or errors please drop me a mail.

Your feedback is important.

Have fun!

Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.

So just to confirm... the only thing good for fame (realistically) is bandits... (this is why my fame will remain low, I refuse to, too monotonous and unbalanced)

At low levels, bandits are not unbalanced :D

Imagine being level 80 in magic as your highest level. Attacking a level 80 bandit and aggroing its entire group (e.g. those in Oflovak's) is a much harder task than killing a solo kizoar.

But yes, when you're much higher, it's laughable how easy bandits give points.

and by extension, how hard it is to work to 100, 150, 200 craft just to get fractions of one point... it's so slow it doesn't feel fair

but at the same time i dont want to be forced to do bandits just because its easy, i dont get a choice though

if i choose to be stubborn im just harming my own progress for principle

In some ways, things go faster at higher levels. While your first skill in a group is fairly slow, it has benefits that make subsequent skills faster. For instance, most homins who dig q80 can't pop 10 spots up to 100m away or dig a bag (~400 mats) in under 20 minutes. Overcrafting makes the craft tree go by fast if you are a decent digger. A couple hours of casual digging for a master digger gets a couple thousand mats, which is usually good for a few levels in any Craft skill where you have a related master. Like I said, that first master is slow, but the boosts you get like overcrafting bonus (up to +200%) or better digging stanzas (for learning your 2nd-5th digs) help a ton.

Fame is a bit different if you want it to be. While you could speed-grind bandits, there are only a couple of those per mission-giver while there are a larger number of lower-paying missions. Someone willing to spend their time between mission cooldowns doing other missions can still do fairly well for themselves on a per-hour basis without having to do bandits. Of course, those missions get more monotonous than bandit missions after a while, so it's kindof a wash anyways.

Also, as Mjollren pointed out, the bandit missions are not exactly easy when you are around the same level as the bandits. It should go without saying that any ele/melee master doing fame runs in a 50-zone is going for speed rather than any sort of challenge.

Do not assume that you speak for all just because you are the loudest voice; there are many who disagree that simply have no desire to waste words on you.

I didn't mean to hijack the post at all btw,
I used to do a mission or two or 10 here and here per hour
got super boring , left it alone

The guide regarding bandit grinding is still accurate
Trust me just kill the bandits with some help and it'llbe more bearable

Nice guide, bandit grinding is by far the most fun in grinding your fame. I love bandit grinding. I got my 100 Kami fame when I was an F2P. It is more fun than killing a boss. I did bandit missions at 150 and 200 regions. I am sure that even a master ele/melee in 150 regions is not easy unless you applied what you learned in Silan. Also it is more fun to do it alone or accompanied by noobs.

on other note: killing bandit also is another methods of grinding fighting skills. I did it at some point but I give it up since the xp/time is not my cup of tea.
