the companion sounds like "pets" from the other mmo's ; i'm guessing it's also like other games and strictly for looks / showing off (correct me if i'm wrong, not had a chance to log in yet and see what the fixes look like/are)

Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.
