The lore actually states that we only know a part of Atys (the New Lands). It is just that we have no access to the rest of the planet. Certain people have access to certain unseeable parts though (e.g. Rangers ?). It is quite possible to imagine that a region is now "open" to every homin of the New Lands.

It can also be a part of the Old Lands, which were way bigger than the New Lands. In short, there's a world of possibilities.

Wilk Potskin said as much about the Old Lands. He spoke of traveling hundreds of km in his travels before he left on his long trip. We don't know how far he wandered most recently, but it must have been far indeed if it's taking him this long to get back.

Atys is always growing, always shifting. We don't notice it much in the New Lands, but in the Roots the tunnels that the Kitins dug had to be stabilized and killed. That's why the termites worked to collapse the mounds and tunnels. I suspect the Ranger pathways have to be patrolled and trimmed (or new paths found) to keep them clear. (The one training path near Zora moved shortly after it opened.)

I do not believe that Atys *has* poles in the usual sense. It is certainly not rotating with respect to the "stars", nor do the movements of the nebula or the other sky objects reflect any thing that would give Atys "poles." Of course we only know a portion of the surface approximately 20x30 km.

afiak the ryzom forge team is now only looking and testing how new stuff can be brought ingame. a whole region filled with all that stuff can ge expected by 2018.
If someone looked into ryzom core, youve seen tutorials there. But it is something different to bring a map into a clean world and to inplement and integrate new map into a running PAID game.
But: if the team is "trained" and i think before we can expect new lands, first will come smth like extended kitin lair or alternative homin Appartements, then it is no more needed to bring only one new region for all nations. when they find out everything and test it, we can expect extended regions of ALL nations. But it can take years, for sure :-/

wenn PVP nur in gewissen Zonen, zB. wenn neue Außenposten dort sein sollten. Oder vielleicht in Höhlen wo sup Material vorkommt. Aber ich tendiere ehr zu einem Non-PVP Gebiet.

Punkt Harvest Zonen

ich Wäre für das System wie in den Roots, mit Choice, Exe. und Sup. Material. (evtl. eine neue Einführung von einer neuen Länder-Spezialisierung) was auch einen neuen Ast Harvesten eröffnen würde. aber erst nach Abschuss eines Anderen Länder Astes. Das Material könnte die Funktion wie Generisches Material Besitzen. Bei den Farben bin ich mir unsicher, gibt es doch eigentlich die wichtigste schon.
- Beige (Was je nach Rüstung-Plan auch ehr Golden schimmert)
- Grün (Was wie gelb aussieht etwas ^^)
- Violet (Was man auch manchmal als Dunkel Pink aussieht)
- Türkise (Was ich ehr als Grün bezeigen möchte)
- Rot
- Blau
- Weiß
- Schwarz
welche Farben außer jetzt Mischfarben, wie Orange (was auch in Kategorie beige fallen würde) oder Lila (Kategorie Violet) zB. sollten denn noch dazu kommen? da es sich Um Länder Material dann Handelt, denke ich das die bestehenden Farben Rot und Blau durchaus ok sind. (Aber ich bin da auch offen).

Punkt Bosse / Nameds (Banditen / Mobs)

da sollten Finde ich die selben generischen Bedingungen herrschen bei den Materialien / Loot, wie das buddel Material (Also generische Funktion wie das Root Material). die art der Bosse, sollte dann so gewählt werden, das sie Ausgleich zu den existierenden darstellen. zB. Sup. Madakam Material q270 gibt es nur für Matis. wo hingegen zB. Exe Yelk Material es ja In Matis Fyros und Roots gibt. ( das ist ja auch dann für jeden nutzbar zB. zu mindestens das Roots Material)
Deswegen meine ich das die dort erscheinenden Bosse und Named Mobs die fehlende Allgemein Nutzung Relativ gut abdeckt.

bei den Banditen Bossen, könnte ich mir gut vorstellen, das Dort Als Belohnung Baupläne Teile von Epischen Waffen und Maro-Kristalle bekommen werden können. (mal keine Rüstung) aber q250
Jede Epische Waffe bestünde aus 4 Plan teilen. hat man alle 4 teile, kann man sich für die Abgabe von Maro-Kristallen, der 4 plan teile und Dapper vielleicht bei einem Schmied, dort im neuen land, eine Waffe anfertigen lassen. das diese Direkt fertige Waffen droppen würde ich nicht so gut finden. und diese Bosse sollten dann auch lvl 250 sein.
die fehlenden Light Bosse zu Dante und Pei, sollten nicht dort eingebunden werden finde ich. diese gehören nach Matis und Fyros ;)

Punkt Tele porter und Portale

Der Vorschlag das es einen Übergang von GoC (Hain der Verwirrung) geben könnte fände ich Persönlich sehr willkommen. Da Matis das einzige land ist was keinen Respawn Punkt besitzt im q250 Gebiet. ich könnte mir gut vorstellen, das man aber durch einen Tunnel sich durchkämpfen muss, um dort anzukommen. man soll ja nicht einfach dort rein laufen können ^^ (ich fände das Loch am Wachhaus dort eine gute ecke für den Übergang, aber dann müssten die Anti maro wachen dort verschwinden!)
wenn man sich aber einmal dort durch gekämpft hat, würde ich direkt am anderen ende eine sichere Zone Einrichten, zb ein kleines Dorf (Einer uns unbekannten friedlichen neuen Rasse) dort Könnte man dann den einzinsten Tele porter kaufen, mit der Bedingung irgend etwas auf 250 zu haben zb.
dort sollte dann der Schmied für die Epischen Waffen aber nicht eingebunden sein ^^ dieses Dorf ist nur ein rand Dorf.
Davon könnte es 3 geben. Und das Hauptdorf (Ställe sollten dort existent sein. vielleicht auch das man sich dort ein Mount und Packer kaufen kann. wäre dann nur eine optische Veränderung der Meks^^) GH und Apartments würde ich weglassen. das soll kein land werden wo man sich niederlassen will ^^. Die heimat ist doch immer noch am schönsten ;)

Punkt Kitins

Auf jeden Fall. es wäre doch logisch das von dort die weißen Kitins herkommen. das sie aber auch andere schwächen haben. meine Idee ist es ja gewesen das es dort Ein Eis land sein sollte, wie schon in den Konzept Zeichnungen. Das würde die weiße Farbe erklären, weiß im Schnee ist bessere Tarnung. aufgrund dessen könnten sie einen guten Schutz gegen Kälte entwickelt haben, was ja bei den Anderen Kitins nicht ist. So das man gezwungen ist auf die Länder Spells zurückzugreifen.
natürlich würde dann auch ein Eis Nest dort Eingebunden werden können. mit Kitin-Larven für die Harvester und Evtl. Event Kitin Bossen. oder generell Bosse der Kitins.
die Nameds würden sich dann ehr außerhalb befinden.

Punkt Landschaft und Bewohner

die Rasse die dort dann Behausung hat könnten die Kaleb sein aus den Konzept Ideen von Nevrax. eine art Yetis nur mit weniger Behaarung ^^ aber Intelligent, und kultiviert. also keine degenerierten.
dort könnten auch Lehrer neue Pläne dieser Rasse beibringen.(wieder mit der voraussetzung, das man das was man lernen möchte auf 250 hat) (natürlich sind auch die Standard Lehrer dann sozusagen da die Krieger und Magier benötigen. evtl kann man dort auch was neues dazubekommen, aber das wird sich alles finden.)
die Tierwelt sollte durchweck zum kalten Klima passen. Jahreszeiten wären zwar kalendarisch vorhanden, aber würden optisch dort keine Auswirkung haben. da es ja sich um die Nördliche Polkappe von Atys handelt. und arktisches Klima hätte.
Tiere die dort vorkommen könnten wären auch optisch dem Land angepasst. Weiße Mektoubs oder Bodoc (wie sie auch in den Roots vorkommen zb. nur das die Farbe dort ehr Tarnung beinhaltet) Reptilien artige würden dort schlecht leben können. neue Tiere wenn nur minimal, und auch nur passend zu Atys vorkommenden wesen. Goo verseuchte Zonen könnten wetter bedingt auftauchen, oder Jahreszeit abhängig. wenn es überhaupt dort reinpasst. vielleicht in einigen Höhlen, die soweit unter der erde liegen, das dort kein eis ist.
die Pflanzenwelt ist dort sehr karge. vielleicht gibt es dort neue Mobs zu erkunden ^^

Punkt Besondere Orte

Die Hauptstadt der neuen Rasse ganz klar. dessen Dörfer.
Wichtig ist würde ich finden, das dieses land Fraktionslos neutral bleib. Wahrscheinlich werden einige Vertreter mit der zeit der Fraktionen dort auftauchen, aber sie hätten im Grunde dort nichts zu melden ^^ da dieses land unabhängig zu sehen ist.
natürlich die schmiede für die epischen Waffen. Das Kitin Nest. eine Gebirgskette wo die Banditen leben. Mystische orte die der neuen Rasse heilig sind, oder die diese als böse Regionen betiteln die man nicht betreten sollte... es kann vieles dort eingebracht werden. nur nicht zuviel. aber es sollte sich schon an die High Level richten. diesen fehlt der momentane Content, und auch die Gruppen arbeit müsste gefördert werden dort. auch die Ideen von verlassenen und geheimen Laboern finde ich sehr gut. aber es soll die erste so gesehene Erweiterung werden und nicht alles abdecken was jemals noch fehlen könnte ;)

I would definitely like to see new lands to explore, but to have them purely for the benefit of high lvl teams would be elitist and disappointing to me. Personally I like to explore on my own, often, and if a new land were to be added, I think it should be accessible to all players. Even the Kitin Nests are survivable to low level players if they are careful - I know; i did it, and it was difficult and terrifying and I enjoyed every minute and every DP! Sure, by all means include an area as described in the OP, but I see no reason why it could not include areas of lower levels also for those who like to just explore, wander around and smell the flowers, so to speak. Make it new, make it beautiful with new critters if you are able, make it challenging in places and just simply awe-inspiring in others, but please do not make it just an "elite" area. The beauty of Atys is you CAN go anywhere at any time and, if you are clever (and sneaky), survive. Don't spoil that.

Well technically you could explore this alone with enough eggs however you make a completely valid point. The issue for me is that as you said, you can go pretty much anywhere in the game solo. Comparing this to full team activities- solo players already have far much more to do. Therefore I think any new land should have at least, in some parts, massive amounts of aggro that need a full team to get around. I still enjoy trekking around different regions solo but am always disappointed by the lack of team activities there is to do.

i fully support virg's idea, though i have my own similar idea on new lands, while virg's idea focus on forced teamwork, mine doesn't require the eggs to solo the area. i don't want to get off topic on it but maybe you would like to read the "upper branches" ideas (read the master outline one, the rest are linked to that one as the ideas forum rules are for single ideas, and my one main idea is broken down into many sub ideas, each outlined in separate threads, you can also find an ongoing RP story that i wrote with the ideas, which in a few months will be complete.)

i think that if my ideas were made a reality as virg's was at the same time, we could get the best of both ideas at one time, with lands that are very hard but can be soloed without eggs, and one where a player could only solo with them. (i support any idea that shows progress and new content, even when i don't exactly agree with it 100%)

Given that the ranger "faction", has yet to be fully implemenmted, how about something for the Ranger folks who are denied access to many rewards in game ? The "new area" could be explained away by the kitins burrowing into our "known world" from a neighboring region ... prior to which homins had no access. The new "buffer" region could be outfittd with defesive outposts, owned / manned by Rangers which could then defend the region from Kitin Invasions (all mechanics already in place). This could then provide Rangers with "equal opportunity" access to game rewards in the way of:

Equivalent, not same, OP Mats
Large scale battles
Hero points, equivalent to PvP points

The beauty of this is that there is no negative impact on anyone, rangers would no longer be restricted from game rewards and all of the previously mentioned ideas (other than creating yet another Pvp zone) can still be implemented.

I'd even like to see a method (admittedly stolen from GoT) whereby existing players could "conscript" for a period of time whereby they are assigned to the Ryzom equivalent of "Castle Black". Guilds / individuals could enter into a conscription agreement committing to serve for defined periods of time (say two weeks). I am kind of "sitting on the fence" so to speak as to whether, while under conscription, conscripted players would have access to faction based rewards.

Mechanics:

-OP Owners (guilds) could not belong to factions ... no "double dipping".
-By conscripting for a defined period, other factioned players could earn hero points and access to a share OP produce.
-Everything else proposed for the region remains the same

I am still very much in favour of a new region close to what this post details. After many years playing Ryzom it has sadly lost it's lackluster for me. I would love a new region with hidden secrets to uncover, challanges to overcome and a real need for some teamwork.

A thought on one possible addition to the zone

Background: A huge group of kitins lie over an old outpost, hidden in the depths of the region. Once a week a kitin boss spawns, the boss mechanics become active and can be attacked by the server. If the kitins are successfully cleared then the players present can loot item X from the outpost.

Difficulty: This should already be hard with nearby aggro but this boss needs to be harder than the NPC bosses, with more players needed to kill. The server should fail, lots of times.

The purpose: A common enemy for homins, binding them together. Sure we can go back to killing each other (or the ground) later on but if there is one thing each faction/civ/religion's lore agrees on, is kitins are a major threat. (Yes there are the current nests to be raided but they provide little reward for a large group of players which is why they aren't attacked regularly).

Item X: An old (untradable) relic material that researchers in different camps collect which gives points to go towards titles and perhaps a unique piece of gear/set? (Sorry FF but I do not think the reward should be the same/similar to current game OP mats).



[I understand that it might be useless debating things for a region that may never happen, but I figure the more things people like about it, the more chance it has of happening]

So how would you suggest thie issue "equal opportunity" of access to be addressed if we can't talk about it when any change is proposed ?

I don't see how anything suggested made anything "unavailable" to all ... any more than currently exists. RThe same could be accomplished by placing the features in any region.

I am in favour of many different things being added into the game that are for only for specific factions/civs only. Many times (when concerning marauders) I was met with the answer "you choose that path, deal with it". I still do not agree with that.

In this specific case, with such a massive new thing being added- a new region, which many have asked for in many different posts, I believe, at least to begin with, that everything added should be available to all. One of the main points of a new region would be to tempt back old players, I think placing certain faction-only mechanics in the region might hinder this.

(Also from a RP-point of view I believe the marauders are entitled to the same opportunities (if not more) to fight kitins as the rangers. Probably bias but that's just my point of view).

I can see that ... but as w/ Episode 2, we didn't have OPs in any of the regions until then. In accordance with the story line, I can see it as a evolvement of area or areas. Of course it makese sense to have these progress accordingly and to fit in with the geography. It will take time to develop the story line, which may have begun already with the fortifying of Thesos.

I also agree that the maruders are short shifted as they are also denied access to equivalent opportunities which should also be resolved. I don't agree about your story line tie-in tho as maruaders are foused pretty much on hating all other homins. OTOH, no one is being denied opportunities to fight kitins. Go back and read my post ... ANY player can sign on to help Rangers defend as I would think they would against anything that tries to eat them ... kitins don't look for faction tags before attacking. And if anyone participates, they should be able to share in rewards.
