The young Ranger archivist released a group of messenger izams. They all carried the same message:

Dear Rangers,
I have made a surprising and mysterious discovery in our archives… or should I say, in those of Orphie Dradius. As you may have guessed, the reason I have access to these documents is that I am an archivist: small and discreet but overseeing everything, and, above all, conscientious in my work. So I asked my colleagues if they had ever seen such a document and they all answered in the negative. As that disappointed me a bit, I had the idea of calling on you, Ranger brothers and sisters!

Your mission is simple my friends: help me decipher the attached illustration, which I feel is important. At least enough to find its way into the archives of Orphie (*)!

Let's meet on 18h - Dua, Harvestor 14, 3rd AC 2609 (**) at the Ranger Camp of Almati Wood to compile all our discoveries! I'm counting on you!

Personally, I first thought of a map from Atys, maybe Oflovak's one or his acolytes':

the disk: Atys; grey→pink →purple middle curve: the great swarm and the exodus to the east. the green one symbolizing the new land
or the curves: roots bearing the canopy. Against this idea: the curves meet at "crossroads"...
• Third also to the kitin nests that I started to pick up on our excursions

As for the symbols in the corners, two ideas:

• If the image is really a map P-Y could be North and South.
• P-Y could also be Pyr and Yrkanis.
• The bottom drawing on the left made me think of a place of Roots Bounty and Darkmoor

Overlaying the transparent map below with various locations of Atys in various configurations has not yielded convincing results so far.

Erin Mac'Cartlann was still thinking about this old archive, that intrigued her so much.
She decided to share a thought.

I have a thought that might help you.
As for me, the document looks like a Matis original if you consider its aesthetic finesse and attention to detail.
About the details, I think each color means something, but what?
If it is indeed a Matis work, nothing is left to chance with them.

Kiwalie and Shlass Understanding:



After observing the map:
Comparing the ancient map with the Nexus we can see that the three loops that come out of the map seem to correspond to the three vortexes of the Nexus: west to Lands of Umbra, north to the Abyss of Ichor and south to the Wastelands.
I would also add that the blue loop at the top left seems to symbolize the Kara TP, the gray loop on the right the Kami TP.

Lying on Crystabell beach, under the still scorching sun of this late summer, Dorothée was carefully observing the copy of the mysterious document that Erin Mac'Cartlann had unearthed.
Yes, the colors must have meant something, but what? The first thing that comes to mind is the sound of the four nations, of course, but the red? the marauders? but if this is the case, why a link with the blue of the Lakes? and why would the purple of the Zorai or the jungle have a special event or place when all hominity has a common history? And the grey? the prime roots?
She drew a large cup from the barrel of Byrrh that Krill "Tylwhee" Be'Luga had offered her, hoping a little that the images that the great Glouglou would bring her would be of some help...
It was nothing of the sort: apart from the pink Mektoubs, the only thing that came to her mind was a question that made her a little worried: Why haven't Apocamus and Orpheus been giving their opinion for so long?

(puisque faut pas hésiter à partager les idées qu'on a) le dessin m'a fait penser à Silan, en version poétique

et en tous cas :
- soit c'est simplement un dessin poétique, sans autre but que de garder/présenter une version poétique d'une chose
- soit c'est une sorte de carte au trésor

une carte au trésor qui montrerait des interactions et les lignes représenteraient ces interactions ?
du genre (par exemple) : quand le soleil est à son zénith, les bodocs migrent au sud et ça fait pousser des psykoplas suprêmes et faut faire attention à cause que y a des ragus et y a une ligne qui montre comment ceuillir les psykoplas suprêmes, sans décalage horaire et sans cogner dans les bodocs migrateurs et sans être mangé par les ragus

y a des intersections, comme si on obtiendrait des résultats différents, en allant à droite où à gauche

à cause que y a des idées au sujet du Nexus, ça me fait penser aussi que ça pourrait être des lignes qui évoqueraient des flux de séve (qui pourraient expliquer pourquoi au Nexus, après le tremblent d'écorce, on trouve des matiéres que normalement, on trouve pas dans cette région)

ce dont je suis certaine, c'est que c'est mystérieux et les mystéres, parfois, c'est tord boyaux, un peu comme la résine, ça colle aux doigts

Je pense que kiwa et Shlass sont sur la bonne piste...

sans vouloir entrer dans un bras de fer idéologique, j'ai pensé encore à ce dessin et :


1) si le dessin évoquerait le Nexus, alors quelles seraient les informations utiles qu'il révélerait, mis à part les trois vortex ?!

note : la ligne qui va vers le sud, elle sort pas du cercle, donc (comparée aux deux autres) c'est pas pertinent qu'elle montrerait un vortex


2) si on compare sur la balance, avec l'autre idée qui suggère que le dessin serait une vision poétique de Silan, alors ça fait des arguments plus pertinents

a) la ligne rouge sur le dessin, évoquerait la série de missions nommée "les lames rouges" liée à Arken et aux ragus et à la tribu des Illuminés (qui est sur le continent, au-delà de Silan) et cette série de missions est liée à certaines missions de Milles Dodoine (tryker=bleu) qui cherche des trésors, un peu comme les pillards

b) l'espèce de ronce sur le dessin, évoquerait les ruines de Silan

c) l'espèce de fleur violette, évoquerait la colline aux Ragus

d) la grande ligne verte évoquerait les rangers qui travaillent pour amener les peuples au-delà de l'obscurité des primes racines

e) les deux lignes qui sont à gauche et qui sortent du cercle évoqueraient, pour celle du haut, le passage ranger qui est dans la jungle et fait une connexion avec le pays des matis (situé au-delà de Silan) et pour celle du bas, le rite ranger avec sa région particulière (située au-delà de Silan)

et tout ça donc pourrait montrer une piste liée à la tribu des Illuminés qui aurait peut-être des secrets historiques à nous apprendre

et donc je sais pas si c'est ça la réponse, mais en effet ça fait plus d'arguments que trois vortex et je pense que c'est en sens que faut cogiter : savoir quelles informations utiles pourraient nous montrer ce dessin

et la lumière fût...

I realize I forgot to mention that this document was in Orphie's files dealing with the Kitins.
Help me to point out anything strange or unique about this illustration, it could be very enlightening.

la tribu des Illuminés est plutot liée à la Goo...

est-ce que le dessin était situé entre deux autres documents (un peu comme la lettre B est située entre la lettre A et la lettre C dans l'alphabet) ?!

moi aussi j'ai regardé les cartes aériennes, mais j'ai pas vu de choses qui ressemblent à la grosse ronce sur l'illustration, donc ça parait confirmer que c'est une chose poétique

et au sujet des couleurs, y a le vert qui est associé aux matis et aux ranger

des choses étranges ou unique...
un dessin unique plein de choses étranges...

si Orphie aurait cogité à ce sujet, j'imagine qu'il aurait écrit des notes et les aurait rangées avec le dessin dans le dossier

pour ma part j'ai cogité, mais pour l'instant, je vois pas mieux à dire que ce que j'ai déjà dit et donc je vais poser la plume en attendant de voir la suite de l'événement

c'est difficile de trouver un code qu'un autre a défini

kiwa Lie regardait le document dans tous les sens, la migraine l’empêchait de réfléchir mais cette finesse dans les détails lui faisant penser à une recherche d' Almati, le maître botaniste de la cour royale Matis, il avait fait des recherches au bois d'Almati qui portait maintenant son nom,
elle avait eu accès à des endroits enfouis au fond de la kitiniere, y a avait trouvé un nid de kitins corrompu par la goo, des rangers malades le gardait, elle avait réussi à se faufiler dedans et était tombée dans les landes obscures....
la migraine l’empêchait de réfléchir mais elle était persuadée que ça avait un rapport, Almati, les recherches des matis, les événements au Nexus...tout ceci serait il lié ?
Kiwa Lie espérait que ses amis Rangers trouveraient la réponse,
fatiguée elle retourna se reposer dans sa cellule à Zora.

Dorothy walked out of her Crystabell apartment for her morning stroll. A sharper-than-usual cold seized her. Snow began to fall. Watching the flakes fall softly on the sawdust, she thought back to her conversation with Mommy Kiwa Lie and the meeting with Erin Mac'Cartlann.
She was now convinced that Orphie's archive represented the Tunnel of Woe, even though the cave drawings were not topographically accurate. Probably, as Eeri thought, the drawer had abandoned himself to some artistic inspiration... The letters "P" and "Y" should, as Shlass had suggested, indicate the approximate directions of Pyr and Yrkanis. The drawing at the bottom left was probably to indicate that it was a kitin-nest and the kind of twisted star in the middle of the map, the room where the Kizarak is usually located, as well as paths and tunnels not listed by the geographers....
As Mom Kiwa had suggested, the landslides that the explorers had observed during the expedition, revealing hitherto unknown paths, must have been caused by the recent bark quake.
The colours remained... What did the author want to indicate? Different species? A level of danger? Ah! there is also this grey path that seems independent from the rest... it's a problem... The road of shadows perhaps? The complex drawing was really not explicit.
Fortunately, homins from all nations had joined the rangers for this difficult investigation.
The wind had risen, piercing the little Ranger's clothing. She pressed on and returned to the village. Tonight she would go to Zora to visit Mom Kiwa, tell her of her affection and support her in the difficult struggle she was forced to wage.
