I'm not quite sure what you mean, Cidre. Certainly I'm not sure what you mean by "playable" in quotes.

Larvae are harvested, not attacked. Of course you have to attack a lot of kitins to get to the larvae, except down in Kitin Lair where you only have to defeat a few kitins if you are sneaky and clever.
