FYI

I was searching the forums for information on digging. I found a lengthy posting in French and was translating it with the DeepL web page. The following words were not translated by DeepL (but were translated by Google Translate).

soins (care)
gisement (deposit)
soigneur (healer)

Thank you. I have also experienced some troubles of that kind, related to common actions, yesterday.

I'm still surprised by the french translation of "mob". It's not a thousands of people, it's just some kind of animal...

No sorry.
The Term MOB originated in Developer Talk, as far as I know. It stands for: Mobile OBject
A digital object/entity that is not at a fixed place in the Game and moves around. An “Animal NPC” if you wish. ;)

To add to the list:
I myself am always a bit amused when DeepL translates “Homin” coming from a French Player to German as “Homo”. Which is deprecative slang for a male gay person.

I see. It seems that it happens only when translating from French. It is in the list already.

Something else that has lead to some hilarious moments ist the occasional translation of „Tryker“ in a French sentence to German as: „Versuchskaninchen“, wich is equivalent to “Guinea-Pig” in a laboratory sense.

yes, in French for ex, UIis, depending on the time, either translated to

unemployment insurance or European Union... LOL

(I added that on the list)

on the wiki, I even did a little "best of" of weird translations into french (at

https://fr.wiki.ryzom.com/wiki/Utilisatrice:Craftjenn/Lucios#Quan d_DeepL_est_drole) Lot of them comes from the black marcket event

So, DeepL is doing a couple of wierd things.

1) Had a player with a Fench client say "Je suis FR moi" which translated as "Iam EN me". Why did "FR" get translated as "EN"?

2) A couple of lines later the same player said "ApresYaandor drapeau english" which showed up as "ApresYaandor drapeau francais". "Apres" didn't translate due to the missing space, "drapeau" (flag) didn't translate and "english" got translated as "francais".

3) So apparently DeepL doesn't recognize the french word "drapeau".

yes, in French for ex, UI is, depending on the time, either translated to unemployment insurance or European Union

So if i typed "UB" 40 would it translate to

a) The UK Unemployment Insurance Application Form
b) The new wave / reggae / pop band
c) Ask the player if they were 40 years old
