I looked at the answer from Zhoi, and it was with a mix of astonishment, wrath and amusement that i cracked a pact for Dyron. A few minutes later i bowed to Zruul and tooked the old tunnel. Despite the numerous kitins still here, the place pacified and calmed him. I climbed to the highest point, smiling when I looked down to the kitins growling down. I waited here, for a second on an hour, i couldn't say, when he finally rejoined me.

-What is the problem this time ?
-I though i could stand every attack, and even if i know my loyalty to the sharük is entire and i will never be irrespectful to the sharükos, but yet their words disturbs me.
-Politics are like the red flail. Their words are venom and if you let them poison you, you will be a dead homin. At least in the political stage. Do like i told you : they shouldn't bother you more than a little moskito. You can't really destroy them : they will always come back. Ignore them, as long as they aren't too much. In this case, remind that politics isn't only words ; on the Bark, retch can sometimes says things the words cannot.
-I can't let them insult me ! Where is akash in all this ?
-You won't. If they attack you, reply. But it's pointless to play their game.
-So ... I do nothing ? I just let them between them ?
-It's my advice. You will only waste your time, and you have enough things to do ... Or you can do like me, go into their game, show them what a fyros can be. This can be dangerous, you will waste your time in it, and even if the satisfaction of proving for the thousand time they are wrong is good, i think you have better to do. Your Zhoi reminds me Arcanox. He was always wrong, made dozens of diplomatics errors, and we have done everything to eject him from the akenak. Finally, he leaved on his own. Do the same, people like him always tend to leave politics.
-That's an interessant point of view, but i need to think about it.
A few hours later, i burned the letter i wrote. If i had things to explain with her, the Hoi-Cho assembly will be the perfect place.

Oren Pyr Gunbra (Icus, Rollocks),

You well note that this issue could've been kept more private. Would have ruffled less feathers, and garnered less attention. Maybe.

However, your ending sentence about matis people warrants I will keep this public. As already said, this here Thor values his friendship with a good number of "those people", non-homins in your eyes. While I appreciate and respect your involvment and life experience, racism is not an acceptable behaviour in my book, especially from elected officials. Regardless of my own status: I could not stop you or Icus from insulting other races, even if I was an akenos myself - such point is moot before even starting. Similarly, as a Pyr resident I had no say in the elections that promoted you.

Again, this is only my view. You undoubtely have a number of like-minded citizens supporting your racism (Icus), but do note the guild leader of a fyros-aligned guild was insulted for his race during the proceedings. Is this diplomacy and politics, insulting the people who swore allegiance to the empire? This homin begs to profusely differ.

And it is specifically because of this, that I discuss here instead of Pyr's bars or by Thesos mail. Not all desert people are grunts who look east with anger, or to quote "would like to burn the kingdom". At least I would like to think so, and will abide by this belief, that desert people can be civil, even moreso in official moments. Yes, there is long-standing hatred and questionable history on both sides on the border. However, bad blood leads to more bad blood, this is crystal-clear for anyone who puts down the bloody axe and open a history book for a moment. Seeing words thrown around carelessly by either side fills my heart with sadness, and I fear paves the way to conflict. Today we hate one race, tomorrow could be another. Are you content in living your life with an axe in your hand? Atys' predators are more than enough for that, thank you.

I think I have made my point clear enough by now. Feel free to act as you wish, not that you would care to listen to a citizen if he didn't provoke you into a duel, anyway ..

(ooc: Gunbra, I take the freedom to ignore your line about me siding with Thorthehammer, as my little scene - like the one of Icus above - took place in private, in far greater privacy than the scenes of Luth, who, after all, shared his thoughts on Zhoi and Thorthehammer with several homins. But he, too, didn't nail these thoughts on the black boards. ;) )

Added to the discussion on the black boards in Fyros this morning:

Akenor Gunbra,

the diplomacy of the Fyros never fails to astonish me. The most astonishing thing, in this case, is the contradiction between the behaviour of several members of the Akenak and the indicated interest of the Sharükos. You, for example, had the urgent demand to express the scientificly rather wild theory that the Matis are no homins; your Sharükos in turn had expressed interest in the opinion of other nations. Now one might discuss if it is necessary to be a homin to form a nation, to be a close friend to the late Gouvernor Wyler, to sign treaties with the Fyros, the Trykers and the Zorai. If you think it's not necessary, I have to suspect that the Sharükos might have asked for the opinions of, say, the Kitins as well. Yet I guess that the honored Emperor of your country has - that his much missed father very clearly had - a very different idea about this, and that indeed he counts us Matis as a homin race. So either you are wrong or we have to suspect that he is. Now I ask you: are the Matis unworthy to be part of hominkind, as you suggest? If we are, all races on Atys have to supect that the honored Sharükos Lykos is wrong, and so was his predecessor. I wonder about you degrading the Matis, for in doing this you are degrading the leaders of your own people. Is it really me who is missing respect to the Fyros or is it yourself, I ask?

This brings me to the Akenak assembly itself. The esteemed Sharükos expressed interest in the opinions of other nation's representants regarding a law he himself saw as a breaking of the Treaty of the Four Nations. Would it be respectful to ignore this interest and stay quiet? Was it "irrevelant and completely stupid but in (the Matis') nature" - as your colleague Icus expressed in the assembly - not only to satisfy the Sharükos' wish, but also to agree with him on his reading of the Treaty? Is it a sign of disrespect to say the Sharükos is right or may it be a sign of disrepect to suggest (and not very subtly) the Sharükos' expressed wish in the opinions of other nation's representants is irrelevant, that his reading of the treaty is stupid, and that both is in the nature of a nation you, Akenor Gunbra, call non-homin?

Is a Fyros like the one writing the petition you commented on and not agreeing with you a traitor? Or might it be interpreted treacheous to break a treaty - or to suggest breaking a treaty - the late Sharükos Dexton approved after the late beloved Gouvernor Still Wyler signed it with his heart's blood and in his dying breath, and which again was approved by Sharükos Lykos just at that assembly?

You say you love your Sharükos, Akenor Gunbra. If that is the way you express your love, I - not as a member of the Assembly of Nobles or a member of the Royal Academy, but as someone who fought for Pyr when the Kitins invaded Fyros many years ago, as someone who shared tears with the late Sharükos Dexton over Still Wyler's remains and who helped to lead the homins into safety aside Sherükos Lykos when the Second Swarming came over us all - fear for him, and for his people.

*Gunbra read the notice attentively and was a little bit disppointed*

What part of doing an insult this damn Matis doesn't understand? Next time I will treat him as a Bodoc, and he will send me a book to prove that he is not a bodoc!

*Gunbra laughed

(ooc: It's a little bit rude, but Gunbra usually don't pay much attention in the matis actions. And she usually throw an insult against matis people whe she can. She perfectly knows that matis are homins, but only tried to provoke Salazar ^^ )

Arrlon wrote a letter to the Zorai officals and a copy to Zhoi

As the ambassor for Zorai I will offical say that the Akenak only react on the insulting behaivor from from Zhoi.
It was not their intention to insult the hole Zorai also that is what Zhoi wants to make every one belive.
I hope also that the well project will not suffer under that rumor.
We respect of course the Zorai and want to strengthen our relationship.
But I hope you will also understand that we can not accept the behaivor from Zhoi.
And instead of appologize she carry on insulting and blaming my Akenak friends of lieing.
I think we have to discuss that matter in the next meeting because I think writing more letters will not help.

So I am looking forward to see you. I really think that problem can be solved.
Arrlon

*Zhoi writes an unusually short notice and pins it directly over Arrlons one*

Now this does it.

I demand an official apology for slandering, spreading false rumors about my person and lying about the despicable words and acting of Rollocks and Icus - by Akenos Arrlon, as he is now the responsible ambassador. You, Akenos Arrlon, sadly have chosen the wrong "friends".

Arrlon is sitting in the Bar to Dyron, looking at his almost empty pint of beer and saying to hisself, ho does that all will end. How does it get all on that wrong way.
But I am a Fyros, I can not accept an insolting on our beloved imparator.
But anyway I want that sitiation to end as quick as possible

So he orderd a new beer, drinking from it, and writing an letter to Zhoi, as he did he say to his self "Diplomatic is really a kind of art. It is everybody taking a step to each other without really moving" "In the end I hope we find a solution everybody can live with and nobody is loosing his face. I hope I will manage that and it is not to late":

Zhoi,

at these very day I was not present because I have to leave.
But arcording to the skripts I see that it seams at you insulting Lykos and the Akenak.
If I only were there at these time I think things all could gone diffrent, becaus the new Akenak dont know you the way I do. But I was not and no the situation is what it is.
I am sure that you not intent to insult Lykos and the Akenak.
But the Akenak ment it that way. And than one word followed the other.
I thinking how we can solve that problem.

So maybe, If you say you never did to intent insulting us this would be a good start.
Than we can again state that we never did want to insult the hole Zorai, what was not the intention. Although it may be that it also seams that way.

In the end isnt it all a big misunderstanding.
I hope we can solve that problem quickly, because it keeps us away from so many important thinks.
And I really think it is not what everybody wants.

*As soon as she has finished reading Zhoi immediately writes her own letter on expensive bark-paper for official causes, sends it to Arrlon and also pins a copy of said letter on the black boards*

Akenos Arrlon,

You know that I have always respected you, and maybe even more than that; as you have never failed at being a most honorable Fyros with an honest and strong heart in my eyes. I sincerely hope that this won't or even cannot ever change.

However I have to beseech and warn you: please observe utmost caution with your new "friends", Akenos Arrlon! You obviously fell for their lies and interpretation of my words, which saddens me. But these people might very likely pull you into a lot more trouble in the near future; and I dearly hope that this won't be more trouble than you can bear.

Well as for your suggestion: in my open letter to Icus http://app.ryzom.com/app_forum/index.php?page=post/view/110325 I have stated towards him and Akenos Gunbra:
Zhoi
if the honored Sharükos Lykos should feel that I have insulted him or the Fyros people I will of course bend my knee willingly and apologize to him as it was definitely not my intention to offend him nor the Fyros people, and I would indeed be sincerely sorry if I had given this impression.
I will of course stand true to my word, if the Sharükos himself sends for me.

However I will just ignore matters if that same apology should be demanded from me by the Akenak as self-acclaimed "speakers for the Sharükos" but in truth only speaking on Icus' or just their own personal behalf. I have unmistakably experienced that this current Akenak is not to be trusted.

Oh, and if Icus, Rollocks and/or Akenos Gunbra should feel that I have somehow insulted them as homins... that they freely may - if they continue to insist on interpreting my words however they please.

Let's not forget that I for my part still demand an official apology (!) for slandering and spreading false rumors about my person and acting by you, Akenos Arrlon - if the Sharükos should not feel that I had offended him and/or the Fyros as a people.
