IDEAS FOR RYZOM

Hi, I don't play this game very much. I do come back to try it out now and again because there is some things I like about it.

Anyway, Some ideas that might make good additions to Ryzom.

1. More character customisation options (Face/Hair/outfits/Dyes).
2. Daily/Hourly hunting quests for solo and groups offering experience for reward.
3. Regional conquest system to intice players to compete againts each other as they carry out duties in the field and to gain stature within their factions. Different Rewards could be earned at multiple tiers).
4. Group Finder option (is this in-game?)
5. More soundtracks in different areas of the world.

What do people think of a crowdfunded roadmap (is there one)?

Individual Daily missions are already there. Doing actions to fulfil the mission usually gives you experiences plus reward for each completed mission.

There were some apps in the past did/does any of them working? What all should it do?

Group finder is just a tool that displays other players and their skill level who are looking to do content in groups. It can show what content they want to do, allowing the players to make communication with each other from there on. An example of this is when I log in and want to hunt or kill monsters,I look on the group finder to search for players wanting to do combat/hunt missions at the same skill/level as me. Just a basic feature of what some other games have.

some tell in uni should work pretty nicely.
Atys community is rather welcoming, so just ask around :)

no need for an app to me

Perhaps not for you or others, but for new players and for many people that have played other mmorpg's, it's quite a desirable feature among some others that make those games easily accessible.

I should probably mention that every time I have played this game, I have always had someone power level me rather than level alongside me at the same skill. Perhaps this is the only way for some of us to experience groups at the moment?

Anyone got any questions or feedback on the conquest system I mentioned?

For 3, there are already outposts that can be held- probably too many... Expanding that type of conflict region wide would alienate a lot of players who prefer a cooperative game play.

Believe me, if the PvP combat were better in Ryzom there are many types of content that I would love- the capture the flag and WvW of GW2 are nice, but Ryzom doesn’t have to be like another game, to me it has its own personality.

Actually, I am not really into PvP combat because I'm not that good at it. I did have cooperative game play in mind for "Conquest". The competitiveness of this system would be how much players can achieve over a period of time. So, if you like hunting or gathering, you would compete in the field for rewards by taking part in activities. The way the rewards might be distributed is via a pyramid system that has many ranks which the reward is tied to at the end of a season. A season can reoccur every week or month, by which would provide incentive for players to stay active.

Maybe I am being too optimistic, but there are some games that have something like this that keep the playerbase coming back.

Let me use Albion Online's leaderboard system just to show what a ranking system could also look like?

I understand what it generally means. I ask for more specific details. It is not hard to write such tool, I never did because I do not need it myself and I think I have seen such tools in AppZone. Besides, what Ashgan says.

I have no idea what exactly you expect from such tool, because "anyone to train XY level Z" on uni is faster than any tool. Also, such tool must have users, if there will be 10 users and half of them will look for training something totally different than other half... well.. "anyone to train XY level Z" again :) Every app for simple things is too clumsy for case of atys and its player base, imho.

In fact I have been thinking about something with more options, like event app where you can create an event, specify details and let others register, check participants to fulfill requirements or whatever... Using this to call for a plod team is just a detail. But will anyone really use it?

Hopefully for you Nevrax bankrupts and we don't have the spires.

5. More soundtracks in different areas of the world.

Probably perfectly doable, but also most likely low on the priority list. Also, you'd need to find someone who can match the aesthetic of already existing soundtracks and create more in that rhythmic style and tone.

Alternatively, there are quite a few unused soundtracks they could add. If you visit Ryzom's website on wayback machine, you can find a bunch of these unused soundtracks in the downloads section. The Prime Roots music files stick out in particular, since it's the only biome that doesn't have a music theme, whereas the other biomes at least have the music that plays when entering a Capitol.

You can download all the original Ryzom musics here: https://ryzom.siela1915.com/download/music.zip
You can unzip that, put into into your Ryzom/music folder and can then listen to them with the ingame mp3 player!

I have been doing some Daily Missions and these are great for rewarding different currencies and fame, but not enough experience points for the time it can take to complete them. It would be a good alternative to levelling to someone with less time to play on some evenings of the week. However, I am not suggesting this be better than general mob farming, just another option.

I am not sure how it can be done, if it will not have advantages compared to regular training, "no one" will use it (and better spend DEVs time to something else like fixing bugs :)) -OR- it will have advantages and then it will be "exploited" to grind (like to train skills that are harder to train).

True is, that number of Daily missions is limited per ~day so the amount of XP would be also limited. But I still see some "not answered" questions like where will those XP go and what is the daily mission relation to that skill?

I would suggest to develop the idea more and suggest it as separate thread afterwards, once it is more complex. Maybe others can bring some ideas?

Personally, I see no reason to give more <insert_whatever>. You do not need to make things faster like faster fame changes (done, is pretty ridiculous), extra skill points gain (suggested recently while you are able to get more than you can ever use), extra xp (while most of players reach masters in short time, complain around about no "end game" and then quit), make the game to do things for you (automatic specialization, automatic fight back when afk), faster running, faster swimming, faster teleporting... Ryzom: Super Hero Action Game

Honestly, why do you play and why are you in such hurry? Maybe Ryzom should give you all masters on creation and set of macros that will do everything on its own and you can just log in and watch how it plays itself? :P

Besides:
- some training techniques are pretty effective and fast (go and discover them)
- Ryzom gameplay is not directly depended on your level skill and you do not need master skill levels for many activities (go and discover them)

It doesn't have to be a faster way to level, it's an alternative method. Perhaps it only works with Daily Missions?

So, maybe this could be an example, on sucsessfully obtaining an item for the mission, you gain bonus experience points?

'You gain 119(+1000) experience points in Two-handed Melee Fight'.
You obtain one Tuft of Average Forest Bodoc Hair of quality 43 for your mission.

The mission item triggers the experience bonus.
