IDEAS FOR RYZOM

It would be a huge thing for crafters to be able to craft an entire "set" of armor as a single openable item for a buyer.

So essentially a crafter could load the craft tool with mats that add up to an entire set. Hit the craft button and BAM, a single box containing all the armor. We could sell them as a single item and that way new players could avoid some confusion and frustration trying to "complete" their gear for a fight or leveling.

Buyers look in the merchant and see the single set box. Buy it, right click open, then take all. We have the game mechanics to support this as far as containers. It would seriously be a quality of life improvement for sellers and buyers alike.

I was also told this was suggested prior and the debate came up about degrades. Well, this would be an OPTIONAL crafting method. I personally think that a improvement of quality of life and making things easier should have SOME risk.

The entire set should have equal stats and equal degrade risk. A full success should be rewarding for time saved and ease to sell a full set/buy a full set.

Maybe add a XP modifier for the crafters to boost it a bit on full success to decrease the risk vs reward to give incentive to do it this way. But if one wants to craft a entire set of end game gear in this way, they should assume the risk or old school it.

This idea is primarily for the benifit of grind gear for leveling and noobs.

You forget that all pieces don't need the same amount of mats. i.e recipe are differents for small and big pieces composing a set.

Then just have a BQ, MQ, and HQ set for each armor type, and have the material amount requirement be the total sum of what it would be if you crafted them separately.

I'd probably increase the crafting time for a set to be equal to crafting 4/5 (HA) pieces of gear; just makes sense to me since you're crafting.. well, a full set. lol

Doesn't need to be complicated.

What about an option to make more pieces in same time, like a scroll button from 1 to 100.
Set to 15 and you craft x15 torso, or x15 pants (lootable or droppable) in one click.

+1 for both ideas

Exactly what Wirroy said. I forgot to include a time increase to make a full set. But yes, each item type would have it's own mat requirements.

I like Revvy's idea as well. But would need to include the immediate halt of bulk action if tool breaks :-P

Indeed, also for OP idea it could work with generic mps since the mats differ from piece to piece.

I support both the OPs' idea but also the one about mass-craft; being able to craft multiples at the time with just one button would go long ways in improving players' game experience.

The idea to craft a whole set in one click seems impossible to me because you may not have the same level of crafting for sleeves or torso, etc, and as Sinvader said recipes are different too.

The idea to sell package of items at merchant is interesting and I think independent from crafting.

The multiple craft in one click is another idea. But I would see it more balanced as a "auto-recraft" checkbox.
If checked, the craft restart automatically, as long as there is enough mats available, and enough room available to get the item after (maybe we could have also a checkbox "auto destroy").
Thus this would spare the player to click, but not the time required by craft session.

Easy solution. Since mass craft is a choice of mass production. Make it a high risk choice. Base the mass kit failure rate on the worst case of all the items in the kit.

Please consider instead introducing simply the re-sale / purchase of an entire set (already crafted beforehand).

I, personally would prefer that: i could then normally craft each individual piece of the set and then offer the whole set for re-sale with a single click.

That would be convenient for both the crafter and for the purchaser, and would make less likely that the purchaser miss out on one or another part of the set due to some other buyer snapping it up beforehand. The purchase would simply not take place if the buyer's inventory would be overburdened by the completed purchase.

Why not add 100% autoplay function, so you can watch TV whilst Ryzom plays itself? :P

Grinding crafts (especially Jewels) isn't the most fun thing to do, but it's part of Ryzom. Why be lazy and try to shortcut it ... ?

Just my tuppence worth :)

The talk is not about grinding your craft level.

Being able to craft a whole set, or being able to craft n x pieces, how is it not about grinding?

I'd expect anyone with some basic intelligence to understand that, add the function for 1 Homin and you add it for everyone. Or are you suggesting it should be an addition to those elite few?

:-)
