#1 Report | Quote[en]

Good evening Atys and happy Sunday. Over the last year or so, I have been following the KP’s in every region that they exist in Prime Roots and one of the things that I have noticed, is that in certain areas, it seems as if the patrol does not actually leave the area as much or as far as I would have thought. I was also thinking that it was a new patrol.

I would like a method as to be able to “tag” a KP, so that I know if it is “Patrol #1, #2 or #3” for the region. Timing their movements has been a pain in the back-side and if there was a way to know who-is-who, that give us a set amount of time to quickly dig before we knew which patrol will return instead of the “8-10 minute” guess.

Any ideas?

So i noticed this was not posted in the ideas forum, which is fine I guess. Do you actually want the devs to number pats for you, would you like to give the patrols names that you come up with, or do you just need fellow researchers? (the first two are likely less than 1% chance of success)

Well, good point - i guess what could be a quick solution is just to name the Great Kiro #1 - Great Kiro #2 and Great Kiro #3 - that is taking a guess of easy renaming, because I have fought 2 KP's at once but i know that there are 3 in a region...

Mainly I am just looking for a way to have a better idea of how to time them when digging and scouting, but maybe that is too easy even though I have spent a long time tracking their movements and patterns...

Thanks

I don't think naming patrols with number to identify them is a good idea. With macros and a bit of focus you can already easily guess where KP's are and it's the only "real difficulty" in high level area right now. I put '"' because it's not really a difficulty when you know how to deal with them.

I would be on the side of those who want KP's to have unpredictable path and who want to make the PR really difficult.

Digging there is only few digging spot in 250 PR that are a bit dangerous and where you might need a bodyguard to be safe.

...what Sinvaders says...

+1 avec sinvader pour rendre les patrouilles encore plus imprévisibles. Les primes racines, c'est pas disney land, ça devrait être des endroits vraiment dangereux.

I just had a crazy thought, giving us paintball guns to run around and shoot Kiro group #1 with blue paint, Kiro group #2 with red paint....etc. Of course, then you would have to run the heck out of there before they get you. lol. Ignore me! Just my eccentricities :D

I just think of a time based painting for animals with a GPS on it. So you can see the KP on the map running and see one of them with a green dot on them! But not all the time. Lets say for 30min RL time until the battery is empty :-D

The great tryker engineers will make it possible for all in a new rite ;-)

Only thing: How to make it compatible to the Lore?

Actually, making KP have unique color highlights would be cool and useful, without being exploitable as renaming would be.

So if you see a great kiro with pink claws and another with blue, then they are two different KPs, oh and you are probably already dead :)

The other possibility is that you are so busy staying alive that you are pretty sure that any colors you saw were hallucinations brought about by the fatigue of continuous casting of bomb heal.

You can throw #KP with a screenshot on instagram maybe someone will share closer screenshot of the same KP with you :)

No definitely, taging KP is not a good idea, create a path for KP to see them on surface would be a better idea :D

I used to "tag" with them all the time .... well play tag. When teammate or two was squatting a sup node, and the KP macro scored a hit while sups was up or about to pop, I'd run in range of one (max parry outfit) /tell "tag you're it" and run like hell. Usually hadda go back as damn buggers return to their route but two pulls should be enuff for ya to empty a node and what's a little DP to a crafter anyway.
