That does not sound healthy and we must remain vigilant.

I wish our brothers who believe where forgotten realize that only the weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is an attribute of the strong. They should stop messing with things we know little about.

I went to investigate this new phenominon more closely to see if it spread to other regions in Witherings and I may be mistaken, but have there always been madakams in the jungle? I have seen a herd migrating in KoD and they went into the goo and i died so I lost them, Then in GoU there is 3 small herds in SW (left) corner, and I am going to look for more.
Otherwise, has anyone seen the animals in places where they never have been before? I could be as innocuous as Gubunis in the wrong place perhaps?
I just don't remember seeing madakams in the Jungle before, that is all.

The researchers of the guild Ballistic Mystix report madakams in both locations that you mention, as well as the herd we more commonly think of in Grove of Confusion.

Those Madakams could also be minions of the Demolisher Madakam, but surely they have been there everytime I'm there with a pick. Also my Raw Material Sources must have something that makes them wanna gather around and hug a poor digger... =)

Interesting to discover that my favorite Motega wood spot in Void had just goo clouds, but no damage. Not sure how healthy it is to inhale it tho, so been diggin in Desert for now just in case.

Some researchers say any contact with Goo represents a danger. Myself, I have hunted and harvested in areas with occasional Goo fog and even now have felt no effects. These new, fast moving Goo clouds I am not so sure about. I would avoid them on principle.

I surveyed the Void a week(*) ago and saw no further advancement of the edges of the Goo.

Some solution included Psykopla's, which could suck and absorb the goo. Also magnetic fence made out of magnetized ambers and seed like in the darkmoor incident. Lastly there was talk of giving Fyros scientists a chance to try to burn the goo.

Chatlog, I was half sleeping before this 4 hour event of sitting was over so I may not remember all or remember it wrong. Poor Siela and Nils for translating, you did very important job for translating this french event!

Daomei writes down a notice directed to her fellow Ranger Aspirants and fixes one copy at the Ranger assembly place in Almati Forest with the plea to help spreading the message. She sends another copy to Wuaoi, and one to the secretary of the Great Mask Mabreka Cho.

During the extraordinary assembly of the Circles of the Theocracy, Great Mask Mabreka Cho asked all homins irrespectively of descent or allegiance to unite against the dangers of the recent Goo expansion. It was mentioned that the Master of Goo tribe, whose encampment now is completely engulfed by the Goo, could have knowledge or even bear responsibility of the causes of this disastrous development. Ranger Aspirant Kiwalie and me offered the help when contacting this tribe. (A transcript of the session can be found here).

Mabreka entrusted the Rangers (the Ranger Aspirants) with an interrogation of the tribe leader, Goo Master Bo-Qung Fao. The purpose is to find out whether they bear responsibility for the outbreak and/or know about the cause and how to stop it.

Some words about the tribe: It is one of the outlaw tribes of the Witherings, and one of those doing research and manipulation of Goo. As extremely zealous Karavan followers, they will attack every Kami follower on sight. Moreover, they despise and attack their fellow Zorai unless they won reputation with them (OOC:Zorai fame = -66, Fyros and Matis = 0, Tryker = 16). So this tribe has to be approached cautiously even under normal circumstances. Right now, approaching the camp is deadly for every unprepared homin due to the Goo.

A group of Ranger Aspirants, among them Moniq, Gaperila, and me, explored the area. We found out that the nearest safe position to the tribe leader is 95m away:

It would be necessary to approach Bo-Qung Fao at a distance of 5-6m ca. :

In order to survive there, one or two healer/s will have to heal from inside the Goo area. The most convenient point would be right of the northeastern tower and left of the main entrance. There, the healer/s could be healed from the safe area which is approximately 45m away:

The Ranger Aspirant negotiating with Bo-Qung Fao (that would most probably be Kiwalie] would first go with the healer/s, then, when stably healed, proceed to the tribe chief, who has been notified and must agree to the meeting in advance (OOC: an event guide is needed for that).

We are looking forward for a date when the Ranger Aspirants and possibly other volunteers may gather for this task.

Bonjour

Well, the roleplay events in particular are part of the Atys history (Lore), they are "really occurring" in this virtual world.

Some consequences of such events are uncomfortable for some: When the aggressive Goo creatures populated parts of Atys, it was hard to do normal players' business where they roamed, and that was in a far greater area than the problem zone in Void nowadays.

Equally, during the creation event of the marauder city (on Leanon), many common passages (like e.g. the ramp from HS to KoD forest) were blocked for over a month by marauder NPC invasion camps. Or, during Kitin invasions, there was a risk of being ambushed, and many spots were infested by aggressive Kitins.

After a couple of weeks, and by cooperation of all players, the event will certainly come to an end. Those who do not enjoy it must stay patient.

There could hardly have been a tag granting "godmode" towards such phenomena, both simply for sake of coherence of the world of Ryzom as for technical reasons: If a class of players would be granted invulnerability against AoE damage like Goo, they would be intouchable by all Goo on Atys, and possibly by any AoE damage. And if they were inattackable by the aggressive mobs spawned for an event, they would be inattackable for any agro as long as the Devs would not code extra "event Goo" or "event agro".

During the event in Jen Lai, Master Magnetizer Gioi Qiai-Zhan explained the material requirements to build a magnetic barrier in the Void to contain the progression of Goo. The materials required are:

2,500 magnetic maps (magneto-cartographer occupation) of minimum grade 2

40,000 Pha amber excellent grade of minimum quality 100
40,000 Zun amber excellent grade of minimum quality 100

80,000 Pha amber choice grade of minimum quality 100
80,000 Zun amber choice grade of minimum quality 100

Amber may come from all ecos.

Reception of materials will start 29. Sept. in the evening (once the receiving NPC/crates are set up).

Mind that excellent Pha can be harvested on surface in summer and autumn during daytime, excellent Zun on surface can be harvested in summer and autumn as well, also during daytime with the exception of Void, where it occurs during night. Given the quantities required, excellent Zun spots in Prime Roots are not likely to play a major role.

As to the magnetic cartographer products, mind that a homin at grade 6 may produce 90 maps qualifying for the delivery every day. So this requirement seems less hard to fulfill while most of the excellent materials can be harvested but in 5 days ca.

"Those Who do not enjoy must stay patient"
Super !
