#1 Report | Quote[en]

I have played Ryzom for about a-year-and-a-half, and I always meet up with a critter than can kick my a$$. Always.

Is it possible for me to, eventually, kill anything I meet with,

or

Are there are some critters that will always kill/humiliate me.

In other words, will I always have to wait and watch some critters and stealthily avoid them?

I probably know the answer already, but I guess I need for someone to confirm this for me.

Also, there is probably a seasonal thing going on here, so if I get killed in the {season}, if I come back {next season} I can get around the critters.

Just asking....

Pretty much always going to be something out there that gives you a good kicking if you try to take it on solo. That's why Ryzom has the ability to form teams. :-)

There is indeed seasonal things going on. Some critters are migrant, {next season} they may not even be there.

You can't "complete" the mainland. If one thinks one has seen or done everything there, one is kidding oneself. But be prepared to "get out what you put in," because the mainland does not coddle or hold hands.

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

Mobs that have significantly more hitpoints than you, or do significant damage, are your nemesis. That would certainly include high level nameds and bosses, and maybe some high level "regular" creatures.

For instance: the level 260 named kincher called Dai-Den is both able to kill you in 2-3 hits if he does critical damage (3k+), and he has sufficient hp to outlast you in a fight. He is killable if you have a healer, but even then it can be tricky.

Yeah, I thought so, but I can hope....

Actually, it is a good thing that you can be killed by a couple dozen yubos. It keeps the players from being too cocky.

With lvl 250 HA you are pretty safe in a lvl 50 zone, but you can still be killed if you get swarmed (speaking from experience).

Eventually with the right gear and levels etc you can solo any normal mob- even a KP. Most high level nameds you won't be able to solo (but there are some you can). Any 220 or 270 boss is out of the question as well- maybe 170 but never tried.

I can't speak for other 170s, but I know Kincherkan pretty much requires a healer, a nuker, and a tank. Pretty easy to take down if you have all three, but hits hard enough that a nuker cannot survive long solo, has enough HP that melee would take forever even if he didn't hit back, and there is no way to take him down before running out of HP, sap, and/or stamina.

I suppose that proper use of enchants and a pile of crystals could remove the need for the tank, but the healer is still required due to the sheer HP.

Also, there are a few "normal" mobs I wouldn't try soloing. Plods and Shalahs come to mind immediately.

Do not assume that you speak for all just because you are the loudest voice; there are many who disagree that simply have no desire to waste words on you.
