Is it possible to buy a teleport pact without actually going to that particular teleporter?

That is, is there a "free-market" way to purchase a teleport pact?

Just wondering...

NO. The whole purpose of requiring a trip to the altar is to encourage exploration and cooperation.

In RP terms the pacts are not a trip TO an altar, but a trip BACK TO the altar you visited. That is why you need to repurchase the pacts.

unless your a marauder that is, saddly they don't suffer that, and their tp's are bulk free unlike kami and karavan.

I'm sure Virg or someone else will chime in with real knowledge, but I thought I had heard that the Marauders still have to "attune their crystals" at each of the Zin teleports before they can be used. They don't have to purchase the crystal charges at the altars, but that's because they operate on a different principle.

yes bittty one visit to a TP location and that's it, after that they don't have to rebuy at that location, where as kami and karavan do have to rebuy at the locations

yes need to "attune" with each crystal one time afterwards you can just buy 10k tp crystals and you'll be set for a couple of days teleporting.
True on the no bulk for the crystals.
Then again you don't get tp's to 50 zones or towns (instead some extra pr ones).

If I where you I would go with the bulky tp's from kami and kara and having to rebuy em each tp since going mara for a new player means no access to special rites that give focus/craft plans/.... , no access to new horizons to make easy money, no occupations, and so on

So yes better tp system but for a new player get independant first (a steady income of dappers) and get the stuff you want first want going back will take alot of time for somebody new aswell

ps. Don't forget you can tp with new horizons aswell to towns so in desert you can actually trek yourself for the biggest part just by tping with NH

Between selling occupation products to NH and a few Overseer crafting missions, being a Marauder most definitely is too rough for new players.

Do not assume that you speak for all just because you are the loudest voice; there are many who disagree that simply have no desire to waste words on you.

Sorry to ask this question, but why would anyone want to be a Marauder???

RP wise // done everything you needed & wanted // just for fun // to do something different ... > there are reasons but it's more for ppl who have done the normal stuff already since you just make it hard on yourself

Marauders have a better tp system, their own camp, their own RP and can be much more pvp-orientated if you want.

Speaking for myself, there is a much larger degree of freedom with marauder RP as the lore states:

"A Marauder is free to do what he wants as long as he is strong enough to do so."

Attacking a city for example is good fun (sending an advanced warning so friends in other factions can organise the defence). Doing this as a Marauder is great fun, most marauders join in and everyone has a good laugh. If you did this as someone nation aligned you would have councils/committees etc. all telling you that you are not of that nation, a criminal and in severe cases they would try to imprison you for life and make you never use your character again.. I remember the RP meetings I did attend for different civs and whilst many enjoyed them I found some players completely unbearable. They can attend most other nation meetings as well so no chance of escape. Luckily for me they can't come to marauder meetings :3

There are lots of other reasons to be a marauder and anyone wants to hear the advantages/disadvantages and what the current marauder situation is like feel free to send me a mail.
