I foud this hermitt and I gave him about 1/2 of my dappers to tell me how to make fires. Now, I wrote down all the instructions, but about 3/4 of these places may currently beyond me (Flaming Forest, Scorched Corridor, and Dragon's Gullet Impasse)
I am merely level 110 in fight, in you opinion, is that sufficiently high for me to go to these places on my own?

I put this posting in Roleplay, because it seems to me the best place to put it here.

Nair-Kovabon,

At your current strength and experience you will definitely want to either take a strong friend with you or be adept at hiding, scouting, and sneaking. The actual locations do not have significant numbers of vicious beasts, but getting to them can be difficult if you do not know the way.

I am sure that if you ask politely you will find someone who would be willing to act as an escort. As you follow him or her, be sure to admire the wildlife and scenery.

Thank you.
I made an initial expidition to Dragon's Gullet Impasse, and I ran my ass out of there when I was attacked by a Roaring Varnix. I will have to be more carefull during my next expidition.

I agree to Sunfish. I can tell that I ran all those places at max lvl 80 (that was a digging lvl), after having shown the techniques by a good friend. It was a unique adventure for me to venture into these regions at that level, an experience I would not want to have missed.

I suggest using a mektoub mount on your travels. Remember the wise words of Guilan Guiter: observe the carnivores for a while, don't rush ... when done observing, run like the wind past them ;)

As a step on your journey to get embers in the Scorched Corridor, I think you should visit the vortex leading into Windy Gate - it acts as a respawn point. Should you die afterwards, you can resume your travels from there.

It looks as if the "adept at hiding, scouting, and sneaking" crowd is out in force. All sorts of very good advice out here, Kovabon, and a clear example of "there is no 'right' way to play."

Thank you for your good advice. I am going to get a few more levels, then head out to the scorched corridor.
And, again, thank you for your good advice

my method was to take a friend and ignore all aggro... run in a straight line spamming heals on each other.. it's messy but it gets the job done... mostly.

I'm available for mayhem treks with a guarantee of losing a minimum of two body parts. Trained by the infamous Ghuiss and practiced extensively with the incredibly-slow-to-react Binarabi. Your destination is but a nervous breakdown away!

ooc:
stealth is your best friend in ryzom, i know a homin that's treked the whole of atys naked on a level 1 toon, it's a long slow process, but can be done.

as many have said here, ask for a little help in the Universe channel, you'd be amazed at how many people will be willing to help you. (even myself)

rp:
helping a younger homin is a way to help improve the power of all homins over the dangers of atys. feel free to ask for help young homin, as there is always a teacher that will guide you to your destination.

If you are looking for someone to help you get to the fires, you can always shoot me a tell :) Trekking with me is exciting, constantly facing deadly dangers but I promise I will bring you there in no more than two pieces.

Hi:
I am Kovabon on Ryr, I died recently, so I switched to my Matis character. I generally don't do that since ( have a crashing issue, which is annoying to me, but probably more annoying to everyone else. I think the problem is with either Ryzom application itself, or my computer setup. So, I generally go out alone to avoid pissing people off when I crash..
But, thank you for your offer.

I have had a stroke in 2011, and am sort of brain-damaged. So, please bear with me.

I always go out alone, since for some unknown reason Ryzon crashes periodically and I don't know why. So I generally don't make teams and one wants to team with me, I tell them that I will probably crash in anywhere from 5 minutes to a half an hour.

Anyway, I went out to the Flaming Forest, alone I went to the Watchers camp and I came back (running from Zerx) and I got out of there alive.... FINALLY. But still, I stayed alive! I am currently level 114 in fight, I have approximately 3105 HP, but I am still not good enough to get most of that damn incandescent wood. But I should be in a few weeks... I hope.

My stealthy capabilities are horrible, and at the least sign of trouble, I use my Speed Up Power and run away! But I am getting better at staying alive.

-- just saying.
