We are working on the forums merge so that there is one set of forums for use by all players. In order to do so, we have begun to update the forums to have muti-language text support.
Here is a brief explanation on how to use it :

In some parts of the forum, when creating or editing post, you can see a new checkbox labeled 'multilingual'. If you select this box, you can add translations for your text directly in your post by using language specific tags: [EN​], [FR​], [DE​], [ES​], [RU​].

Example: 
[EN​] Your text in English.
[FR​] Your text in French.
[DE​] Your text in German.
[ES​] Your text in Spanish.
[RU​] Your text in Russian.

There's no need to add a tag for the non translated text.

Example :
[FR​] Your text in French.
[EN​] Your text in English.

These tags can be used as much for the title of the subject as for its body, for the forum title, the description, or the polls.

If you want to add an image or a link without any language restriction, just add the [**​] tag at the beginning of the line, and it will be displayed in all languages.

When someone is reading your post, depending on its forum or game settings, it will show only the text in the chosen language if a translation is available. Otherwise, the Google translation widget is still available.

Posts which contain only single language have to be marked as such using language select box (drop-down menu). Users can set their language preferences in forum profile and ignore those posts/topics if they want. Google translator widget also depends on post language and stays hidden when post and forum language match.

A more complete set of instructions will be made once the multi-language support is stable.

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

à moins qu'il fasse passer un script pour ajouter les balises... cela ne fera pas un script trop compliqué...
(du moins pour les posts dans une seul langue)

On voit en effet les onglets pour choisir la langue juste au dessus du post de Tamarea en tête de ce sujet.
Je trouve bien qu'on puisse voir les autres langues à la demande, par exemple pouvoir lire le texte d'origine en anglais même si on a des pref. FR

Par défaut on verra que le texte qui correspond à la langue définis dans nos options pour nous c'est donc le français.

Par contre, ça pourrait être pratique d'avoir un système type wiki pour traduire le texte des autres, google translator est pas forcement très bon pour ça même si l'outil est très pratique.

Juste une question:
Si j'ai bien compris quand j'écris un texte en français, j'ai la possibilité de mettre aussi la traduction de ce texte en anglais(par exemple) et du coup on verra les deux textes...
Mais si je ne suis pas capable de traduire mon texte, mais qu'un autre joueur le peu. Est ce qu'il pourras "éditer" mon texte pour y ajouter la traduction comme si c'était moi qui l'avait traduit?

Non, seuls les bénévoles de l'équipe Ryzom peuvent éditer les posts des autres. Par contre, si un joueur veut traduire votre texte en anglais, il pourra soit poster la traduction en réponse et y adjoindre le tag "anglais", soit vous envoyer sa traduction par mail IG pour que vous éditiez votre post.

Nous verrons par la suite si nous pouvons améliorer le système, nous n'en sommes qu'au tout début.

Nous sommes aussi en train de regarder comment supprimer (ou fortement allonger) la limite de longueur d'un texte posté en jeu. Cela évitera les textes multilangues tronqués à cause de ce "détail".

Nous sommes en train de réfléchir à cela. Le mode multilangue a été ajouté mais la fusion réelle n'a pas encore été faite : il reste toujours trois forums séparés.

Il sera possible pour les auteurs d'éditer leurs posts monolangues pour y adjoindre les traductions, puis de supprimer les posts de traduction qui étaient publiés sur les autres forums.

totally great - no more posting same thing to 3 different forums :))
... So my main language is English and then I tick the box for multilingual so homins can translate it?
hmm - or maybe just have main language as English and not tick the Multilingual box ...

My understanding of what this is intended to do is to make it so that I can input the translations myself (at least for the languages I know. Thus I mark this section with the [ e n ] mark, then put it through Goo-trad into French and copy that in after the [ f r ] mark. Someone who is French will see only the French version, you and I will see the English version and a German or Spanish speaker will see the English version unless I add them. I don't see any way for others to edit *my* post.

Of course it doesn't seem to be working for this forum, despite the fact that it is marked for multilingual.

And now it is working. Somehow the little checkbox got itself unchecked, but when I edited the message and checked the box the [ f r ] marked text disappeared from my view.

nope, it does not. ignoring or hiding language(s), you'd have to tick some checkboxes under options.
