A message was made public in every capital :

Lordoy, Deles Silam, Oren Pyr, Woha!
The kitins have now lingered for many cycles in front of our cities. Though the nations have started to take countermeasures against them by building fortified camps to observe and fight their presence in the New Lands, it seems that the task is too big for the homin people after the Second Great Swarm.
But inventiveness is one of the biggest virtues of the Tryker people, as well as the will to never give up. Both together have led to exciting results I wish to present to the public and representatives of the homin governments on Mystia 11th, 1st AC 2576.
Please meet me in front of the Fairhaven Stables.

Ailan Mac'Kean,
Governor of New Trykoth

(ooc: Wednesday, 18th December, 20h GMT. This will be a not-too-long roleplaying event, also suitable for new players / low level characters. No additional teleporters except Fairhaven are necessary. Latecomers can get information at any time in the region chat of Fairhaven about event progress and where to join.)

Great event today! *Cheers Dev team!* And very imaginative.
For those that missed it, I will try to give a brief synopsis. Since my my memory is not to good on details (esp. with names), feel free to fill in or correct what happened.
First we met with a Tryker (i will call him ncp1) who took us on a field trip after telling us the work of building the camps is too hard and will take too long as it is. He mentioned the solution to all our problems. We proceeded to about 3/4 of the way to Farely farm where we discovered a small building which turned out to be a laboratory. after examining it, 3/4 of us were killed in a big explosion prompting ressurections. Soon after we heard a voice calling out from above. After looking around we saw a Homin scientist (ncp2=Ba'Arty or Arppy something) up on a cliff/spire who got blown up there from the explosion. He was shaking and scared/disoriented. Then we told him to jump, but he would not, plus he was not trusting us or what we would do to him. After reassurance, he suggested we push a tree over to the cliff, which to our suprise, we were able to do!
After he came down, He explained they were working on some special sap crystals that they need for building machines. These machines will enable us to speed up the rate at which we turn in the mats for building Kitin observation camps. (that part I wasn't too clear on understanding). But he mentioned it should speed things up 30%. The problem was this Prototype was unstable, and blew up, but future machines should be safe.
He mentioned we have to find the boxes of Crystals that flew into the air from the explosion. He said he saw one fly over to the beach. After running over there, we found a poor fisherman (ncp3) brutally knocked out laying face down in the sand :( where all efforts to revive him took all of us rezzing for a long time. Eventually he came to and saw the box float off into the water towards some kelp. We swam out there and (ncp2) helped us 'Pull' the kelp to shore after 3 tugs. After examining the kelp, we found nothing until  caprinis ate it up and swallowed the crystals too!  Well meaning homins accidently killed the caprinis since they were being real pests, but in the looting discovered the crystals, so all was fine.
Ncp2 then said he saw box2 fly to Fair Haven, so we all ran there. We discovered it broke and went into somebodies window which turned out to be Be'Merrell Achen, the raw mats merchant. She did not want to give up the box! After many death threats from homins and demands to turn over the box to the goverment authorities, she asked if any authorities were even present. Thankfully Meagon was a Taliar so she was able to negotiate a price of 100,000 dappers to fix her window and to make a little extra dappers, in which Mac'Leigan Lixie and Ba'Roley Deppan stuck their nose into it and said "EACH" meaning they wanted a cut too. so homins decided to contribute 300,000 and we got box 2.
Ncp2 then said he saw the 3rd(and final) box fly into the Kitins of the deep mound in Farely farm. Well, you know the conclusion of that, we fought all the 'kotd' to finally find a box deep into a kitin mound.
Finally our scientist had all his boxes and promised a machine would be built for each region within a day and in a day or two we would see improvements in the rate of progress on the kitin camps. :)

Thanks, Naema for the summary! Sadly I missed the event. Now at least my hope to be able to build the camps in time is invigorated again.

Thank you, Naema. As usual it was at a time that I am not present in Atys normally. (I make special exception for Ranger meetings). It sounds as if it was quite exciting.

Edit: Is there going to be an announcement when the machines start running? They weren't as of a few hours ago. the last time someone did a Tryker run.

Just an addendum: "NPC #1" was Ailan Mac'Kean. Lady Ailan Mac Kean is member of the council of governors of the lakelands, responsible for the city of Windermeer. Before the second great swarming she is reported to have been Tryker governor in the realm named Leanon. She assumed that office after the assassination of Still Wyler, after resigning from being an officer of the Atys Rangers next to commander Orphie Dradius. She is known to be a descendant of the famous Tryker freedom heroine Loria in the Lore of the world of Atys.

As of today, the Tryker machines still aren't working. Are we going to get any hint as to when they will start up? I hate to run my mount ragged for minor gains when I could let him rest a bit, then run him for major gains. The news was so good -- now it seems as if there is a delay of some sort.

As of sometime today, the coating of existing construction and the treatment of materials to be delivered took place. The rate of increase of completion per delivery now seems to stand at a fantastic value of 0.33% per delivery. I.e. three deliveries (tour of the camps) will increase the completion by 1%.

Forget the Christmas present Race, let the construction roll on!
