Chronicle
Today, Winderly the 11th, third cycle of year 2570, General Icaphotis Dylidus begged Emperor Lykos to entrust him with the task of freeing the Burning Desert. The old strategist was a worthy Homin, and i'm glad for the wellbeing of our people that sharükos granted hims his trust to take back of the lands of the Empire.

Indeed, when we are back to our homes in Pyr, it would be arrogant to pretend that we have regained our Dunes of old. Kitins are still the real masters of what, 8 years ago, was the Empire of the burning desert. We can see them, moving in swarms, massed at the bottom of dunes, protecting the tunnels leading to their lairs. The most experienced of our warriors don't cross ceraikos gate alone, and the supplying of towns is in a critical state.

I bore witness to the elevation by the Emperor of two officiers of the Imperial army, Ibritis Ibirus and Pimokos Lyion, to the rank of Strategist, to support General Dylidus as he requested. All three are charismatics Fyros and good soldiers. They will know how to organize the Kitin eradication from the Burning Desert.

Lordoy, homins, and listen while I tell you what has transpired in the Burning Desert:

At the appointed time, many homins from all lands gathered together at the Cerakos Gate. There was much conversation between them and greeting of people who were old friends (and even some who were old enemies).

At a little after the appointed time General Icaphotis Dylidus and his spokesman, Atron Apodos led the assembled gathering east to the ramp down into Outlaw Canyon, where a large Kitin Mound has blocked the way. Impetuous Fyros (if that is not redundant) charged forward and attacked the Kitin in the Mound and they in turn swarmed forth to attack the army.

Strong was the fighting and brave and steadfast were the homins of all races who stood there in that pass and held their ground, casting spells of might, dealing strong blows and healing their comrades as wave upon wave of Kitin emerged and attacked us (for I was there in the midst of it with my fellows from Phaedreas Tears). And in the end the number of Kitin emerging faded to a trickle.

We prepared then to destroy the mound, but the General said that we did not have the tools to seal it, and that would have to wait for the Rangers to deal with it. However, he said that no more Kitin would come from that mound, at least for a while.

We then proceeded to Canyon Pass and then to Barkgully Gulch where the action was repeated, though we were over-confident in that battle and were almost destroyed. However the Kitin retreated to their Mound and a few survivors managed to heal enough of us for us to recover. Then no mercy was shown to the remaining Kitin.

Fell indeed are the Kitin of the Depths. At Midpeaks and then again near West Blackburn the foul Kidinaks came out in force and with their mesmeric gas froze whole teams of homins. Yet through cooperation and comradeship we prevailed. Only a few homins were forced to seek the mercy of Jena (or Ma-Duk as the Kamis would claim), then race to return to us to help us in our victory.

Then came word from the West of Burning Desert. Pimokos Lyion sent word to Icaphotis Dylidus that Dyron and Frahar Towers had also been relieved, at least for the moment.

In a few days (*)  homins must work together again to free the Lakes, and then again and again until all the lands are freed. And then we hope that the Rangers will be able to do their work.
