Further report: Used as target in the shortcut:C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start /affinity 2 C:\"Program Files (x86)"\"Ryzom"\client_ryzom_rd.exe(Note 2 instead of your 8, this was just a test run to get it to use anything but CPU 0.)It didn't work. Rather, it worked just fine to start the client, but it was still using CPU 0 :((

Your problem is with permissions. If you have UAC turned on, you have to run task manager as administrator to change affinity. Using shortcuts does not bypass that. So in order for your shortcut to change affinity, you will have to have your task manager as always in admin mode (UAC off)

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.
