Mutual Mac

Hey, I've heard a lot of people talking about alt's and them controlling their alt at the same tie as being logged in on their main account. However, all people I have asked in-game are on Windows, got a clue as to how you make alt's on Mac's whilst still logged in on main character?

Thanks :)

Basically, you have to run two instances of the client on two different accounts on the Ryzom servers. If you are doing this on two different computers, it's dirt simple. :)

Since Mac OS is based on Unix is should be possible to duplicate the entire directory for Ryzom and build two shortcuts, just as the Linux users can.

Prepare for magnificently laggy performance unless you have a hot machine.

All you have to do on a mac is copy your Ryzom.app in your Applications folder into your home folder or downloads, whatever, and run them both at the same time. No muss, no fuss.

You do have to make a second account (free is fine) and Bitty's right--the lag can be really bad. But sometimes it's very helpful.

For the lag, just use minimal graphics settings on the alt ... beautiful as the Atysian scenery might be, one set of eyes is enough to contemplate, and your alt can live a bit shortsighted :)

Or you can always sell your Mac and buy a better PC with a choice to run any other OS you like including runing 2 clients without any problams.
Personally I'm a bit against runing 2 accounts at the same time since you start playing with yourself instead of playing with other people... You might as well go play a single plyer game.
If you need a CPer/healer - try to find someone to help you. There are many healers waiting to train, also finding CPers in popular digging areas like Dyron, Void, Enchanted Isle, GoC arent hard to find. Promote teamplay with other players instead of using puppet slaves!

For some reason, I have problems with even one client (possibly due to being on the left coast of the USA).

The only reason I know about alts at all was as a solution to the storage problems just prior to and following the release of 1.13. The alts were just storage. If I ever get a "super gaming setup" I may pull them out again and see if I can do routines from A Chorus Line. :)

Amiko
since you start playing with yourself instead of playing with other people...

I don't even know where to begin except the obvious. Playing with your self results in more satisfaction and less DP....

Just think of playing with yourself as practice, for when you play with other people.

;)

Playing with yourself... everyone should have enough practice with this. >:D
