That's unexpected...
Start ryzom.sh from the terminal and watch any text it outputs... Anything relevant there?

Have fun,
Nuno

And when you crash there's no more text? Please wait until it happens and report back =)

And when you crash there's no more text? Please wait until it happens and report back =)

Please note that if you start ryzom.sh from the terminal, you can't close the terminal window. If you do close the terminal, ryzom will exit too :-)

Have fun,
Nuno

Just crashed, nothing else appeared in that terminal box.

#21 [en]

Just to update this one:
We debugged the crash to the proprietary ATI drivers (message in /var/log/syslog reporting a segfault in those drivers).

Jayson uninstalled those drivers and is using the open source drivers without problems.

(OSS drivers don't render the water correctly -- it's "flat" -- but it's a minor inconvenient if compared to crashing every 30 minutes)

i have download ryzom , and i extract al the files well then execute ryzom menu install and update, but when i try to open the game it says that Ryzom_Client does not exist, , but ryzom_client is there . ??? what can i do help plz.

#23 [en]

Run
find / -mount -name ryzom.sh | xargs cat {} | grep RYZOM_CLIENT

note line RYZOM_CLIENT=
Is ryzom_client file where RYZOM_CLIENT points to?

#24 [en]

Hi.
Change to that directory, like cd /home/user/Ryzom
Execute ryzom_client with: ./ryzom_client
(the ./ is important)

There's a Ryzom repository is you're running Debian/Ubuntu on your box. It will run better than the original if you're running a 64bit OS.

Good luck,
Nuno
