IDEAS FOR RYZOM

so the verdict from the long term players is that they dont want to grind more :) but honestly yall arent the problem. This idea isnt about you, as important as you are to ryzom,

lots of people when talking about ryzom say things like "it was fun for a few months"

Roleplay itself doesnt need a game engine at all so this really doesnt even touch on it.

I think it would bring a lot of people back to the game, and be the sort of thing that would make enough of a stir on the various game media that it would attract new people. Ryzom is rated extremely well on most, just has a "been there done that" kinda feel.

I have no need of a bigger shovel :) been playing mmorpgs and actually rping in them since before html, but yet again this isnt about me, it is an idea that I think would encourage more people to play, creating a richer environment for all of us.

You'll only entice those who have played who want to "beat the game." They'll come long enough to earn those new levels and then leave again. Instead of focusing on bringing back players who have already shown they'll only stay as long as there is a new level to earn, why not focus on keeping those who are here and those who are new?

How to retain players? I understand that the other servers have stronger populations than Arispotle, why? The only major difference, that I know of, is the RP community.

"It was fun for a few months", because after you grind your levels, there isn't anything else to do.

Look at your example game. When you reach max level there, you enter a whole new realm of end-game content. A wealth of content that we simply DO NOT HAVE HERE. It held my attention for three years, longer than any other game has been able to do. Does that help point out a reason for the difference in population levels between the games?

First, come up with something to do with the levels that we have now, and then possibly you might be able to earn support for raising the level cap. Until then, don't expect any kind of support for raising the level cap.

so in your example you want ppl to come back to master their sword skill again for a month and then leave again?

Eri, They are putting in more content already, the marauder thing. This is a seperate suggestion.

Sub, Ryzom is a great game, I think most people who actually came back for whatever reason would hang around for more than a month once they are reminded of it.

thinking about it and looking at my masters and the thousands of skill points i can't buy skills with i might even go so far and say i would unsub and go on a f2p account then remastering all

New Skill trees and New spells would be much better, hell we dont even have an area of effect affy :P Our spells are quite simple compared to other games.

New spells and new type of trees would keep people interested more than raising the skill cap.

I support Solo on that

affies that'd affect an area instead of just 1 target can greatly increase PvP experience

Don't Bomb, Ricochet and Spray all affect an area (in different ways)?

It's bad luck to be superstitious . . .

Arfur, yes but that is only on nuke, heal and range weapons. No affy does it,. Also you have to stand still to cast it, which is just daft for spells such as root, you should be able to chase them down and cast it.

Me too! :)

I think they should allow affys to be cast while moving, it would really alter PvPs use of them.
