Hi, its been a loooong time since I last played Ryzom, but something gotten into me lately and I got attracted to the game again. I have restored my old character and I want to continue working on my crafting/foraging. I am currently up to q100, and was sent to the noob land without any items or money. I did some quests there quick to get out, now I am in Pyros Burning Desert areas.

Looks like all the mats here are q50. My big question is, is there any guide to get mats listed based on q, or is it all based on the mob levels, like Burning Desert area around town is q50 only it seems. If I go further out into the other sections of the desert where mobs are 100+ level, does it mean that I'll be able to forage q100 mats there? In other words, since game was out for so very long, is there a database or some maps where Q of the mats is shows, so I know where to go to grind my harvesting levels up.

Also, is market still active? I used to have packer and everything, now they stripped everything off of me and only restored my skills and points, no property or items, so I have to make money again and crafting was my main income source before. Will I be able to raise money by selling anything other than supreme based crafted equipment? Selling my crafts to the NPC for 120 coins, when packer costs half a million is beyond stupid. In other words, how do I make money when the game has such a small community now, other than a very long and tedious way of selling everything to the NPC for pennies.

Thank you for your help in advance.

You can do occupations (basicaly a work), that will increase your fame with the aimed nations (using New Horizon to turn product), and also give you dappers (obviously the more you gain fame, the more you gain dappers).

If i do remind well, it is 180k at start, after 100 fame you will gain 360k
Been long time i didn't do that type of thing, so better you to read this:

https://en.wiki.ryzom.com/wiki/Occupations

To answer about "is market still active":

Yes it is, some players sell things, but the economy on Atys is broken since age now, so its cheap, or useless to sell good things (or bad thing even.)
It is only used nowaday as a storage, or to throw away your items (help players by the same way, the newbies most of time).

Good luck with your.. well.. forage quest, welcome back and enjoy the game ;)

Quality of material you are able to dig is based on three things:
- Your skill (you are unable to dig higher quality than possible with the skill you are using)
- Quality of your pick (q1 allows you to forage up to q50, all other picks up to its quality, careplanner's pick do not affect the quality)
- Level of the area (50/100/150/200/250 limits maximal quality, cities are in safest zones, usually)

Dappers are cheap, because materials are cheap.

As Revvy says, you can do occupations for money. However it is boring. It is based on your local fame, so higher grades will not bring you more dappers. Good to get faction points.

As a crafter, you can try crafting missions, there are some with good dappers. Best are available for high level ofc, but I know some good ones that require q100 or q110 items. And mission cooldown is not 20 hours... Remember, that all missions affect your fames. Tribe missions usually affect tribe and kami/kara only, so better do those. In case you care about tribe fame.

You can also craft some nice stuff and offer that on resale or directly on forum to other players. However try to avoid flooding shelves with poor stats crap, it is probably full already :) Selling to the merchant only can also bring some dappers. Better quality you sell to the merchant, better price you get. Selling training materials for good price is common as well.

I like to do hunter missions, especially tribe ones. If you know the area and you travel a lot, you can make some dappers along.

The Greedy Crafter Guide may be helpful to you, in the App Zone

Thank you all. Joined a good guild and they are very helpful in explaining things and helping with some dapper and equipment, maybe even too helpful, if they continue that way, I won't have to really play hahaha... found out about desert areas level and which ones have which q, they showed me some areas for specific mats and yes, BM is great, has a link to a database with very helpful maps.

Looks like at q100 I can do a quest from a guy in Pyr to cart boots for 65k, but I was also advised to work on improving the NH rep, so that traveling is cheaper. I wanna be a ranger, but that will take a heck a lot of grinding. Will see how long I last on grind. Will try to vary the things I doo
