IDEAS FOR RYZOM

It would be really nice to have a calendar of some kind possibly using the web api.

It can be used by guilds to plan Treks, OP battles, Boss Hunts, etc. It should also allow for the Events team events to auto populate as well. This way people can see at a glance what is going for the week/month.

Brilliant Idea Stitch! I would like to add the ability to add guild and/or faction events, which of course we only be seen by those respective groups...(perhaps also an optional individual accept/decline button that shows a running total of accepts).

As an added bonus, the ability to "invite" other guilds would be great...these invites, once accepted by a HO or GL of the invited guild will show on all members calendars like a guild event.

But, even just a basic version would be much appreciated!

There might be a relatively simple way to do that. For some time we (my leanon guild the free soul) are using google calendar for guild events and such. The event calendar is a google calendar as well and can be easily added to the guild's calendar.

The ryzom web interface already transforms these google calendar entries into that list we can see on the starting page. All we need is some means to replace the event calendar's ical url with a guild specific one. I can imagine two options:

a) make this a guild setting: guild leaders (and maybe hos) can change the ical url for all members.
b) make this a personal setting: guild members can change the url to show their guild's calendar - or a personal one.

b is more flexible, you can create your personal google calendar and add both guild and official event calendar to it. Allows you to enter personal events as well. A group of people can join and create more calendars (for example: boss respawn times, season changes, op battles) that anyone can easily add to his/her personal calendar. If anyone doesn't like to make his/her own calendar, simply set it to the guild calendar's ical url.

Despite caching (to speed up loading times) this looks like a minor change to me. I'll notify sywindt as this is a web app related feature.
