I realized there is a missing faction in this game. There is alllegience to each civ (each respectively), friends with all civs (hominist), and anti-all civs (marauder). Likewise, there is allegience to each religion (Kami and Karavan), friends with all religions (theist), but there is no anti-all religions (Apostate?).

I recommend we make an Apostate title and channel to be consistant.

It's called Anti-Theist, but I've never seen anyone willing to go that way to know if there is a channel or title or anything else.

Tryton lives!

Of course Tryton isn't an apostate, He is a true follower of Jena who warns against the corruption of Her message by both the Kami and Karavan.

So long and thanks for all the fish

it is anti-theist indeed.....
but there are no titles, only channels :(
i'm waiting for that marauder title for i think almost 4 months :O
i hope next patch i gonna bring it

Oh, then there is a channel...then I was wrong in suggesting they have not recognized a faction. Please excuse this thread.

It would be nice if the role playing options in this game weren't so negative. The current notion seems to be that if you have a problem with theists you go around slapping karavan and pissing in the kami's coffee. If we were to go to the trouble of coming up with an anti-theist faction, I'd like it not to fall along the maurader you're-either-for-us-or-against-us lines. More sophisticated storytelling would be nice.

Once we're asking for extra content, what about genuine addition instead of pure contrarianism? Why don't we have a new mission-giver in the corner of every pub and the odd shady guy hanging out on a street corner who asks you to try to figure out what the kami and karavan are really up to. You might even be required to make friends with them to figure some of it out. Pursuing that fame line, rather than doing everything in your power to make advanced beings mad at you to knock your fame low enough, would be what defined an anti-theist. It'd be a tad more realistic than the option of simply making the powers that be angry with you.

I think you missed the bit where this "faction", if it can be called that, already exists. There are both positive and negative roles you can choose.

Kami: Pro Kami, Anti Kara
Kara: Pro Kara, Anti Kami
Theist: Pro Kami, Pro Kara
Anti-Theist: Anti-Kami, Anti-Kara
Neutral: neither for nor against either faction

That is what the game has defined. The Anti-Theist isn't some investigative group trying to find out the secret inner workings of each group. The name "Anti-Theist" specifically describes what they are: they are opposed to ("anti") the intervention, manipulations, and any and all activities of the various factions/religions and their agents. The role you describe falls to the neutrals.

You pick what you want to do. Every possibility exists. Please don't try to shoehorn the game into something it is not. It's much bigger than that.

I think "The Apostate" should be a title for anti-theists.

re: Erizon.
If it's just a suggestion that those of us using the game use a particular vocabulary to describe how players align without changing content, I've no problem with it. As this is the suggestions forum, I took it as a suggestion for in-game content. And as I'm a little disappointed with the notion of mauraders as some sort of home for folks who don't want to align with a civ, I didn't want to see some analogue arise as the alternative to joining a faction.

Now you're mixing up civs with religions. This is a thread about the religions.

But for the sake of completeness, you can align with either of the four civs (Citizen), you can remain neutral (Neutral), you can work toward favourable status with all civs (Hominist), or you can work against the will of all civs (Marauder). In only one instance do you align with a civ. See if you can work out the meanings of each of those, and start a new thread if you still have questions.

Again, these things are already in the game.
