I'm having a hard time deciding which race to choose: Fyros or Tryker.

You see, all the races in this game are pretty cool, but I feel like these two would make the best character for me as far as appearance goes.

The Tryker character I made has these big, cool and colorful looking eyes, and I like playing as small characters at times. For some reason, I find playing as a "little" person at times entertaining. Also, the Tryker are so different.

The Fyros character I made looks more masculine than my Tryker, and is more badass, although the Tryker is also cool looking in their own ways.

As far as flaws that makes the characters, well, I suppose a lot of the races in this game have funny faces, but that's part of what makes them different and unique.

I almost feel like the only things that make my Tryker look different from a female Tryker is that he wears male clothing, doesn't have really girly hairstyle choices (like pigtails) and isn't really busty like a female (because you know....for "little" people, the female Trykers tend to be very busty).

While with some proportions changed and some tribal paint added my Fyros character actually looks rather cool, the shape of the face reminds me a little bit of caveman (though the Trykers' faces vaguely remind me of monkeys), and he doesn't have that same unique feel and look to him as my Tryker character. Maybe it's because he has a more human look to him.

While appearance-wise, I kinda feel like I should go with a Tryker character if I'm aiming for uniqueness, I'm still not too sure about some things.

Obviously, I'm new to this game. I've tried playing it before in the past, but I ran into issues on my old computer, but now, I can play. Is there any huge difference in what I can or can't do as far as race goes?

Also, sorry if anything I say violates the rules. I'm just kinda use to talking this way in the usual communities I'm in, and I can't find the forum rules. Where are they?

Oh, and one more thing, if it's ok to ask. I saw an mp3 player in game. Is it possible to add my own mp3s to listen to?

As far as race goes, you will potentially have access to the same content regardless of the race you pick (as long as you work your fame and alignements accordingly).

From what I read in your post I believe the look of your toon is important to you and this is a matter of taste I suppose.

However, each race in Ryzom has a different history regarding its relationship to Atys and its Gods ; That, in my opinion is to be taken in consideration ; Same goes for each civilization History.

I believe reading the Lore helped me to pick my main characters alignement back then ; I would advise you to read this contents (nicely revamped by the way grats to contributors ;) )

And yes you can put a single folder on play from your PC in the ingame MP3 player.
I advise that you make a playlist load them into a single folder and load it into the MP3 player.

From what I've read so far, Trykers seem to appeal to me more, but I also read that I can be a citizen of any place regardless of which race I am.

I'll continue to read a bit more, but I'm still a bit undecided. Thanks for the replies.

Well, you have 5 character slots per account, and accounts are free to play up to lvl 125 for an unlimited time, plus you aren't limited in the number of accounts you can own... so you could even have 1 character of each race and faction if you wanted to.

... just saying that, if the choice is still too hard to make. ;)

Yeah, but I like to focus on one character. I don't really like switching between one and another a lot. If I make an alt after making some decent progress on one character, I'll make it a separate race from my alt.
