found it, but there is nothing within my Macbook pro running Lion that allows me to open or edit the cfg file.

okay, got into the library, changed the code and it works. yay! for macbook pros with multiple users, you have to go into your user profile/library/application support/ryzom/.cfg file and insert the two lines of code.
