IDEAS FOR RYZOM

It would be nice to have Events for Hominists Only as there are Events for Matis Nobles and Fyros Akenaks and prolly for Trykers and Zoraïs as well.

As Hominists we could have a Hominist Council, and a Hominist Ambassadors who could have some limited privy to what's happening in other govts and try to make world peace.

You probably dont need the event team for that Amnesia. You could start it yourself, by organizing this council and negotiating with the various racial governments. =)

Of course the event team could get involved as well and facilitate it. But you could get started yourself or with other Hominists, it's a great idea!

Just good luck on the World Peace thing =P

Great idea though I wish you luck in ending the Fyros/Matis feud that has ben going on since as long as homins can remember

There aren't events for Matis Only or Fyros Only, though.

There are events where the Matis government or the Fyros government plays a major role, but everyone is invited to all those events. It's just that most players seem to decide "oh, it's a Matis event and I'm not Matis, so I don't care". But there's nothing stopping anyone from showing up.

Even the government meetings are only very rarely private, and usually public, so there's no need for official ambassadors, everyone can already show up to them and be privy to exactly what's happening in the governments. People just choose not to.

But yes, if you want a Hominist council, you should just start one! The Event Team often adapts to what the players do, but the players have to take the initiative themselves to get a response from them. There used to be no Zoraï-government either, until a bunch of Zoraï got together and made an unofficial one. After they persisted long enough, it was made official.

In my observation you are wrong on the Not only Fyros or not only Matis part as when i tried to vote for the new Akenak you have to be a Fyros Patriot to do so. so in that way it excludes all other. so it is Fyros ONLY.

Great idea Amnesia. I would think the event people would adapt. I have found them very helpful with the Tryker government stuff.

BTW in what country can you vote if you are not a citizen of that country?

I think what Marelli was trying to say is that you can attend the meetings of the goverments. You may not be able to participate in the conversation, but you can attend and listen. By doing this you may decide to help or not help them in other events. I think the Matis vs. Fyros we could have all helped them dig for materials or fight troops, it was not limited to Matis or Fyros only.

yes, the elections are for citizens only. That's only natural.
Similarly, only Tryker citizens can become Taliari and Matis citizens Nobles, if they meet the requirements for it (meaning certain guild rank and no more than 2 per guild). The Zorai have a similar limit.

But everyone can show up at meetings and watch/listen. It's just expected that those not part of the assembly refrain from interrupted, certainly those not citizens, and/or ask permission to speak first.

This is no different from when you go to the visitors' gallery in your real world government when it's in session. Unless you petition to speak through official channels you're expected to not interrupt or you can be removed.
Or with elections setting restrictions on who can run and vote.

I'm well aware of the real life way of voting etc also in real life you are a citizen of a country by birth right or by applying and doing the necesary things. Here we are missing the birthright citizen part. So as a Fyros by race and not by faction i only assumed that i could vote.

I'm not saying that that should change in any way i was only suggesting that in technicality The Akenak elections IS an EVENT and IT IS FYROS ONLY. Same way with the other 3 races.

It would seem that this idea created a stirr i did not intend, i apologize for that.
I only had in mind the RP players who like Neutrality to race, but would like to see some event that it's not Voting for Nobles or Akenaks or not having the Matis and Fyros beat each other and just by taking part in the event loose a great amount of fame points with either faction. I had in mind that maybe we could have some other type of events organized trying to make peace with them and maybe even GAIN fame for a change.

You'll likely have to come up with the ideas yourself, or among some friends, or even try to join the Events team to steer it back to center. So far, the Fairhaven Faire is one of the few wide-open events intended for all players to enjoy. The rest, well, you've seen them.

Just a note... you do not vote for Nobles...
Even for someone who is a part of one of those races the loss of the fame points was a great amount that we were not willing to give. The event team now knows that I believe and will most likely not do something like that one again.
It is Roleplay so it has to fit in with the lore. There ahven't been many zorai events because there was never a government before lately and they were not around.

not 100% right here in some countrys like belgium, eu nationals and even some non eu nationals can vote here during the elections they have to live in the country for 5years and do an outh to the country sign the human rights act (and some other stuff probably) and then yes non citizins can vote here (they can even come up for some elections i think) :s

so why can't hominists/marauders don't do such a thing to be allowed in the player gouverments (a hint here to the "free" trykers)

#12 [en]

btw before i forget i think i might have mentioned it somewhere else but the event team did say that there will be events plannend for marauders (i guess hominists aswell) in the future < this was sain on the Q&A with event team

One big difference between hominists and the Civ Factions, the Civ Factions are equal in Civ and Faction. As a Kami hominist, I cannot imagine sitting across from some of the Kara hominists and trying to agree upon political issues.

Theist Hominists avoid this concern, but denying the factions and the civs does not leave much politics.

If you are not looking for political events, then I must conclude you just want more events everyone (including you or I) would be welcome to.

NS is big on community building, so would welcome the opportunity sit down and discuss ideas (with Kami and/or Kara) that we can implement with or without the official event team. Give us a yell in game if interested (we intend to do this anyways).

feel free to contact me ingame i'll never say no to an event or helping organizing (well if it's digg or craft then you can expect a no but otherwise i'll say yes)

Oh dear, I feel responsibility for derailing this thread is purely mine, so I should apologise. I did not intend to start a nitpicking of event details and real world governments.

The point of my post was to say that a lot of what Amnesia envisioned for this Hominist Council can already be done on player initiative, and that it's a lot more likely to be made official if such a player initiative is taken first.

I don't think most players realise that a fair part of what happens on the Matis events is initiated by the Nobles and other Matis players, rather than by the event team. The event team quite on purpose leaves a lot of initiative to the players, and mostly reacts to what we, the players, do. Same for the other races and governments - the Zoraï played a large part in the current event line until the Awakened disappeared; then the Zoraï all but disappeared from the event because no Zoraï players were pulling the cart anymore.
