So Leaders can see who moved items in and out of guild vault.

Isn't the whole reason you make somebody a HO based on trust?

I've been HO in lots of guilds I've never done anything wrong myself (have seen ppl doing wrong but they are taken care off acordingly most off the time), but knowing that I'm under control if I give a "boob" a sword from GH and some cats would really put me off and I'm sure it's the same for others aswell.

Do you really wanna control every aspect of somebody????

If you don't trust somebody don't make him a HO!!!

well said, Subo. Only place I know where a complete log of who puts what in and takes what out is available is WoW, and there it causes trouble (of course the community there is often asking for it, lots of immature people, and a lot of them end up looting unsecured guild vaults, but also it leads to nasty fights in guilds when someone takes something they've a good use for that someone else had wanted).

The main problem is tracking who puts items IN the vault. Storage space is one of the most precious resources in the game. Newbs can and do waste this space by putting low value and hard to track items into the vault.

Maybe if you don't recruit your guild does not have this problem. But we have tried posting storage guidelines in our guild forums and even the MOTD, to no avail. Cleaning up the resulting mess just leads to extra work for the HOs. A log would allow us to identify and educate clueless trash stashers.

An alternative suggestion would be disallow member adds to the vault. An even better idea (but more dev work) would be to allow the GL to customize vault access both IN and OUT separately by rank.

This is definitely needed.

What would also be nice is to have separate tabs that allow different accesses. One for HO's and GL, one for officers and up, and one for all members.

When I invite someone to the guild I tell them certain rules that have been problems with noobs in the past. This is one such thing I try to tell them. After they join I give them a rundown of where the guild hall is and bring them there. I tell them that it is meant for excellent and supreme mats and anything of less should not be put in.

A suggestion for gear would be when a player gets knew gear from one of yur Officers or High officers have them give them the old gear if they arent going to sell it and the Officer can decide whether or not it is worthy of Guild Hall Space.

The only time I would have liked this feature was when somebody stole from OotN's guild hall. Luckily we were able to track it down but it could ahve been even more helpful to prevent the stealing knowing the person would be tracked or even just knowing for sure who did it.

Overall I see NO need for this feature. I personally believe this feature would just be yet another nuisance to guild leaders.

Never argue with an idiot; they will just drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

Additionally, Members having the ability to place things inside the guild hall makes them feel like a part of the guild imo. If the guild hall was just a useless thing that you couldn't interact with at all unless you ask for help how would you feel? I, personally, would feel like I was bothering somebody higher up everythime i had something to put in and I wouldnt want to keep it until later just taking up my personal space. This can happen if you have higher level regular members who might go on boss hunts and get mats or even craft gear for the hall. They would have to BUG higher level members. That could get annoying.

Correct, seen too many guilds in other mmos where the members were just there to feed the guild vault with stuff for the guild leadership.
IOW, unless you were part of that "inner circle" in the guild you were essentially excluded from the vault except you were allowed to see 1 tab (for example) and deposit stuff there, which an ho or gl would then remove and either sell, use, destroy, or store elsewhere.

Want something? Ask and you can buy it back from the guild at the going market rate (or a percentage below it sometimes) on the player market.

Every guild is different, and every player is different, and no one can (or should) force their rules on anyone else (or any other guild). What works for you or in your guild doesn't necessarily work for someone else or their guild. In our self-centered world, that concept is sometimes forgotten =)

Right now, a new member "on probation" is no different than an established member who knows the ins and outs of what makes the guild tick. Instead of a transaction log, allow the guild leader to assign permissions for who can deposit and withdraw items from the guild storage, regardless of in-guild title.

Then, once you are comfortable your new players understand the goals and directions of the guild, then you can give them extra permissions or send them on their way somewhere else if they don't really fit.

eeek, would hate to be in those guilds.

The lost coast privateers, had an awesome setup where if you came across rare stuff that you could not use, you could deposit into a certain area of the GH where everyone had access. This way if my Warden came across a fabled... for someone else they could put it in there and you could see who took it out. Usually that someone would send an email saying that they put something in that I could use...

Bump!

I certainly see the use for this, and I understand why there are people who doesn't like being tracked. I also agree with the fact that HOs should be trusted enough to be able to take things from the GH, but I think the GL should be trusted enough to be able to see who does what.

There could be an indicator in the GH window if the logging is activated so you can see that you're being tracked so you can either object or leave the guild if it goes against your beliefs.

In our guild the problem has not been thieves. We store only complete sets of armor and jewels. A well intentioned member can deposit an incomplete set. Unless we know who to contact to try and get the missing piece, it gets sold/destroyed. We have even seen 2 pieces of sage armor, and cant notify the donor of the other 3 sage missions for the complete set.

ZyRoom (http://zyroom.misulud.fr/index.php/zyroom.74.html) will do this while it is running. All that is required is the guild's API key. It will show everything (including catalyzer production if you want) along with allowing you to set alert levels or watch specific items. Very, very handy tool.

Having said that, a guild hall log would be a great thing. It could even be included as content: Have to complete certain requirements & missions to hire a guild clerk, could also require regular payments (say weekly) as well.

I should add that ZyRoom does not log WHO moves items into or out of the guild hall.

It would be very helpful to know who put what in the guild hall. When I was in KL most of us would dig in the desert and just deposit mats in the gh (since we owned an OP close by) but sometime we would forget to pull it out and later we had to figure out whos mats they were...

Even though there are a lot of discussion, the poll seems to show that there are plenty of people who wish this suggestion would be accepted.
