This is not goodbye, but I thought that for anyone who is used to seeing me online on a regular basis you should know that I'm going to be absent from Atys for a week starting Tuesday. The reason is simple. I'm going to be camping without computer access. :)

Weather wasn't so nice -- major dust storm and rain did property damage, but no personal injury. Still, I had fun overall. Will see you all Tuesday (Western hemisphere) or Weds (Euro).

Well, we were in Arizona, south of Phoenix. The nighttime temps were well above freezing (mid-40's F, around 5C) and up to comfy (high 60's F, around 20C) during the day. All the snow was on the coast and in the mountains. :)

Eep, don't encourage the global warming conspiracists, even if it is jokingly :P

Global warming theory clearly states it's only going to be like a 0.1 degree rise in average temperature over the years, so the temperature rise would be pretty much completely unnoticeable to Jayce-in-the-street - you'd need careful measurements to notice it.

But that small rise in average temperature is supposed to cause other, more noticeable changes, like more extreme temperature fluctuations (ie colder winters) and more extreme weather (ie. more storms, more snow, etc).

It's rather annoying when so many people often in full seriousnes point to those exact things global warming predicts while calling it evidence that global warming must be wrong. Just makes it look as though they didn't even look into what global warming means >_>

:) I tell ppl global warming is noticable as the global weirding of the weather. Not going to get hot as the sun's surface in the next 100 years but you'll see strange weather patterns and more intense storms.
