I mean driver that Ryzom client is using, ie OpenGL instead of DirectX, OpenAL instead of XAudio.

client.log might also have indication what might be the cause (or even nel_report log file)

aaahh it worked!! :] thank you so much Karu!
It was the 3D driver that needed to be changed. Maybe it was stuck because I stopped using the external screen when I was on the road with the laptop. Nice to see the Ryzom community work together even outside the game ;)
