IDEAS FOR RYZOM

Since the game has so few players and fewer that are still leveling up combat skills which I'm still doing (1-h sword level 231 and 2-h slashing 165 and ele magic around 160) this would cut out the downtime drastically! So far, it's the only RPG that doesn't have any type of healing consumable of any kind. I think it's a good idea for this game to have them and I'm probably the only one that does, haha :)

Hello,
Ryzom does have healing potions (obtained from the wheel of fortune), but they are not instant-use, which in my opinion is positive.
They still reduce downtime.

While not directly a potion, there are other ways to improve your regeneration
  • Sit down. You then regenerate at double speed.
  • the flowers gained from outposts themselves also give a small boost to your regeneration stats.
  • There's also the profession with their produced goods - they give varying boosts to regeneration, so choose the right ones :) See wiki: https://en.wiki.ryzom.com/wiki/Occupation_Products They work quickly and give a decent boost. But the cooldown is similar to (but independent of) your normal self-regeneration stanzas.
  • Play the wheel of fortune^Gubani. The potions vary a lot and have some small cooldown, but really help you continue to train. Their cooldown is reasonably short for their effect they offer.
  • Be around on Easter and Christmas and hoard the Easter eggs and Christmas spheres. They come as instant +life / +sap / +stammina and +focus spheres in the range +100 ... +500. They are bulky though, so the amount of them you can hoard is somewhat limited (luckily).
  • And of course: ask in region and universe other players for joint levelling. Join an active guild. Healing eachother is fastest - and that's how it should be.
In essence: there are a lot of means to improve ones regeneration settings. Yet and yes, it can still feel slow when you train alone and make heavy use of life, sap, and / or stamina... one can find ways to minimize that, e.g. also by making use of (reasonable low-level) spells on your amp or weapon to aid you in your fight and using lower-level stanzas. But of course it doesn't help with regenerating life loss due to enemy hits...I'm a bit torn wether I approve or disapprove :)
On one side it's an *MM*ORPG, so play with others should give an advantage. But there's no point in having people be bored when they cannot find another person to play with.
