Convención acerca del Nuevo Instalador.

Desde los últimos parches, se ha establecido una nueva convención en la versión del cliente:
versión = [año].[mes].[número de revisión]

Out of Interest, why Alpha , Beta and Omega?

Sure:
1) Alpha, first letter of the Greek Alphabet makes sense for Development.
2) Beta, being the second letter of the Greek Alphabet makes sense for Test. This is fairly common in the games industry because companies can always hide behind the "yeah, it's Beta so you have to expect it to break" excuse.

But, Omega? Why skip past every other letter in the Greek Alphabet to use Omega for Live? Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta ... why not use any of the other letters?

In anticipation, you used Omega because it's the last letter of the alphabet and Live means the content has passed through Dev, Test and into Production. Right? No ...

Omega would mean Finished, Final, Complete, End so there'd be no more patches, bug fixes, updates, the game is no longer a Beta or Sandbox it's done and so it's Omega?

Sorry, but I don't see the logic :)

Tbh, every developer should have their own development server. Otherwise your development workflow is a defective bottleneck.

The idea of a single dev server as the alpha server is very self-centered.

Beyond that, at the current scale of the game and pace of development, just one public test server at the bleeding edge version most of the time, and on release candidate when preparing for a patch.

I don't think alpha server is meant to be development environment. Every dev should be able to launch a basic server to do his test while developing a feature.

I'm agree, any other letter after beta make sens.
If i choose Omega it's just a little joke with MegaCorp...

Btw, you can also think when we release in Omega version, it's just a "released" version (so final because we don't wait to release it, not final because don't have any bugs)
Simply point of views...
