Got a new laptop running windows 10 Home, ryzom client crashes everything right before it gets to the character screen, game was installed via steam, and via downloading the ryzom client, same result.

See if changing/forcing display driver allows game to launch.
I believe steam shows popup to run config utility before launch.

If it doesn't run the config utility you should be able to find it here C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Local\Ryzom\ryzom_live

changed drivers mode btw Open GL and Direct3D to no avail, also tried window mode and fullscreen, nada, also tried disable the sound or changing sound drivers. and same results... the game gets past the login screen after i input my username and pass, i hear the background music for like 2-3 seconds, then the entire game freezes up and quits before it loads the character selection screen.
