Whenever I start a new client, it begins loading and doesn't get past the new loading screen after character selection. Eventually, after some relogs it suddenly loads.

Can something be done?
I have no idea what causes the issue but as someone who sometimes runs more than one client, I'm sure you'll understand this can be quite bothersome.

Please help :)

Can you be more specific about your client platform and language? Do you have any error messages?

I have just successuly installed x64 linux version, except some warnings during download all went ok. On first start I got ~277 MB patch. After client restart all seems ok, I got into the game on first try.

Language: German /Eng
System: Mac OS Catalina
Client Version: 3.6.0.8696

There is no error message, the client simply stalls with full loading screen bar and doesn't get me into game. After a few relogs it eventually does.

Hm I have heard about some torubles with Mac client again, but I have no details, just that Ulukyn (has been) working on it.

It seems to be working ok under Windows 7 x86, got ~251 MB patch and after restart I got into the game.

Looks like Mac specific issue however the version is same as my linux and windows client I have just installed. I will add the issue under task #9950.

Can you send me by mail at ulukyn@ryzom.com the file : client.log at same location than the screenshots and client.cfg ?

I have had this problem very often under Linux. After several attempts it turned out to be a problem with memory addressing. If there is not enough free memory available, it gets stuck. I had to delete the cache in memory. Then it worked again.

Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS
Release: 16.04
Codename: xenial

I'm still having this issue by the way, would love some official support as to how to fix it

It is highly recommend to close all open and not saved files and programs before doing this:

Clear Ram Cache on Linux

Be sure that you are root.

sudo su

1. Clear PageCache only.
sudo sync; echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

2. Clear dentries and inodes.
sync; echo 2 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

3. Clear PageCache, dentries and inodes.
sync; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

Clear Ram Cache on Windows

Create a Shortcut and put this into it:
%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks

Clear Ram Cache on Mac

sudo purge

What you can try to do is to temporarily remove all files and folders from the game that are not needed to launch the game (copy and paste) - the game configuration itself - and launch the game to see if it works properly (to make sure it's not a corrupted file).
