I understand that I am a fairly new toon but I cannot understand why racist slang and vulgar language is tolerated in open regional chat in Silan.

I really do not see any purpose in continuing to play in a community that conducts itself in this manner. Maybe I am over reacting but this is not acceptable behavior in my mind.

Report them if you feel it breaks rules.

For what it's worth I just started and think the community is one of the most mature and friendly I've found in an MMO.

Newer players in Silan aren't really a representation of the playerbase as a whole.

All I can say is that, unless it was in a language I don't speak, I have never seen anyone doing something like this before. It's most definitely not a common occurence and I don't think the CSRs would let such a thing go, maybe none of them were on at the time.

Consider that Silan gathers... newcomers, so in other words all sorts of people, with various levels of civilization.

So, while those who are part of the regular community are nice, it is fairly possible to run into one idiot or two who just joined the game and is used to throwing curses and expletives every other sentence. Because that's how they did in Dota or Fortnite or whatever is the latest cool multiplayer game.

The only cure for that are screenshots and tickets for said person. Unfortunately the CSR team is small and mostly biased towards European timezones, so it may happen at times to get an idiot who isn't muted in a timely manner ;/

Ryzom is rated PG-13 afaik so there is no place for vulgarity and so on public. We have a code of conduct that can help you with some questions.

In case you think someone violates rules, try to warn that homin first. Not everyone realize own limits here. Or is simply mad at the moment :). Then you can:

• contact any CSR online (execute "/who gm" command (without quotes) in a line of any of your chat windows in-game) or...
• send a ticket using the Support tool or...
• contact the support using e-mail support@ryzom.com

Anyway, thank you for your initiative. Please be always strict about inappropriate behaviour.

In order for your report to be effective however, no action will be taken w/o "evidence". Make sure to take a screenie, e-mail; it to support or post it on imugr or similar site and put the link in your ticket.

Make sure the map is open and that the dialog window in question is shown in a manner that includes conversation preceding the offense.
