IDEAS FOR RYZOM

It would be great if we could have better and easier to find documentation and chat spaces for public developing.

Very specifically the code itself and api topics.

The code and how to setup a build environment is pretty straight forward as far as the desire to have a modern reference. But API is seriously lacking a bit more so. It would be great to see in one spot what it is capable of, how to do things in general, and maybe a chat channel in Rocketchat dedicated to API talk.

API docs are available from api.ryzom.com

Hello!

Having a dedicated public channel on RC for API related talk would be quite nice indeed. ++

In the meantime, if you need help I can try to give some advice. Just send a message on RC.

Have you already tried to have an ryzom_core server operational ? :P

#5 [en]

Yes I have tried to get the core code to compile on both Win and Linux, but it was back when I guess gcc was an issue?
I gave up since then and after I was told all existing documentation was pretty much out dated.

What I meant is to have ryzom_core working and up not just compiling it. Compiling it is easy making the server working is another story.

#7 [en]

Oh I had it compile at one point on both platforms. But running not so much. No matter what I did sheets.bin seems to be the spot it constantly died on.
