Totally agreed! Of course, it's one of those things best done with multiple (preferably diverse) views so as to mitigate/avoid bias-induced blind spots. But yes, some discussion before spending time coding and debugging would save a lot of hassles.

ne pratiquant peu les missions...voir pas du tout, elles ont l'avantage de "cadrer" la présence en jeu des "anciens" casser les habitudes, peu frustrer… enfin, a mon sens, pour en revenir aux missions....elles prennent de l'intéret quand un joueur est à un tres haut niveau, sinon, il y va peu..
A: Non les missions sont utile à tous les niveaux, elle sont une source de dappers de renomés et bientot pour certaines, d'UT, donc elles ne sont pas réserver au "anciens ".

Q: Une réduction des gains dapper pour les missions NH / metier, ok ! Mais une récompense de fidélité metier ne serait pas de refus
A: Notre reflexion sur les missions est vaste, la fidélité est un des critére à introduire oui, c'est à l'étude :)

Q: la récompense des dappers pour les cadeaux offerts par NH a déjà été réduite d'un tiers, encore plus, je suppose: mais la loyauté vis-à-vis de l'occupation devrait au moins permettre que les deux grades inférieurs soient utilisés pour les NH. A: Oui mais toutes les autres missions on vu le gain de dappers revu à la hausse, ça permet de diversifier les sources. Le but de ces changements est de permettre aux autres missions d'avoir de l‚intérêt, le probléme des dons de métiers au NH c'est que les joueurs n'étaient pas obligés de monter les grades du metier pour avoir les dappers et renomés

Peut-étre que les joueurs seraient aussi plus motivés à faire des métiers si les produits étaient plus utiles. Il y a trés peu de raisons d'aller au-delà de la premiére grade dans la plupart des cas. Et beaucoup d'occupations ne valent tout simplement pas la peine d'étre faites.

A:  AH, ok... Non certains métiers sont assez simples, comme porteur d'eau ou cartographe :) Que serait un métier simple sans son coté rébarbatif ? :)

2. Missions Journalières

Principe de base:
Chaque jour, vous avez la possibilité de réaliser sept missions dans l'ordre de votre choix, sélectionnées aléatoirement parmi toutes les missions classiques "Tâche" et/ou les missions "don de produit des métiers".

Une option de filtrage vous permet de restreindre les missions sélectionnables en fonction des renommées que vous ne souhaitez pas faire baisser ou monter.

Vous avez également la possibilité de ne faire que certains types de missions, mais cela pourrait avoir un impact sur votre gain final.

Vous pouvez abandonner à tout moment une mission si vous ne souhaitez pas la faire ou bien la faire plus tard. Cependant, celle-ci n'est pas remplacée par une autre et restera dans la liste des missions proposées pour ce jour.

A: Oui, c'est prévu :) ce sont des missions existantes, mais vous pourrez filtrer les missions qui vous seront proposées, cela inclut les métiers aussi :)

À NOTER que ne sélectionner qu'un seul type de mission réduira la récompense.

 Quatre options de filtrage sont proposées:

- Filtrage de la zone dans laquelle effectuer chaque type de mission :

Sélectionnez ici le niveau de la zone (50 --> 250) dans laquelle vous souhaitez effectuer chaque type de mission (artisanat, forage, combat, exploration). Si vous choisissez l'option "Aucune", alors aucune mission de ce type ne vous sera proposée.

- Filtrage des renommées qui ne doivent pas diminuer:

Filtrez ici pour retirer de la liste les missions qui vous feraient perdre contre votre gré certaines renommées.

Ainsi, un Ranger devrait cocher toutes les cases de la ligne "Renommées que vous ne voulez pas diminuer".

- Filtrage des métiers :

Filtrez ici quels métiers peuvent vous être proposés. Même si vous les choisissez tous, seul un maximum dequatre missions de métier vous sera proposé aléatoirement. A partir de 5 métiers choisis, plus vous en choisirez, plus la récompense augmentera.

3. Nouvelle carte maraudeur

Nous sommes en train d'ajouter de la végétation dans toute la nouvelle zone.[p]Dans un premier temps, l'ensemble du camp maraudeur sera déplacé vers une grande zone de la nouvelle carte mais pas vers la ville, car la zone qui l'accueillera devra d'abord étre nettoyée par les PJ marauders. Ensuite seulement,  les PNJ maraudeurs rejoindront leur emplacement final sur la zone de la ville..

je ne sais pas trop comment fonctionne la faction maraudeur, mais le seul truc que je vois sont les téléporteurs...qui sont super bien placés...

Alee: c'est la raison pour laquelle nous obtenons du contenu, car tout ce que nous avons en tant que faction, ce sont nos téléports;)

CoC est la régle générale, mais il utilise également la logique, en supposant que sa balise, oui, mais se faire tuer en boucle juste pour la vengeance n'a pas de sens (même si le gameplay le permet) Mais nous allons essayer de clarifier oui :).

Cloud.ryzom.com is our cloud (make sense xD) for projects like the Marauder City and the link are the Etherpad document with the todo list about it.
Just that :)

About Marauder zone, it's a project we will finish, and a good try to create a new complete zone.
So, it's for marauder but with goal to be able to add content for all players in a future.

I hope have time this summer to add more HOWTO videos about how create a map and other stuff for who want see more about our work ;)

As one who is chronically left out of these meetings because they occur around mid-day when I am either working or (on weekends) doing the errands I cannot do on other days, I just wanted to put my two dappers worth in here.

Normally, I would be opposed to teleporting meks. However, there is one thing that makes me conditionally favor it; the unique issues of getting a mek to/from Lakes, whether through Fount/BB/ToT or Loria/HH. Going between Desert and either Jungle or Forest is simpler, easier, and quicker than entering/leaving Lakes. Then again, I hesitate to make any suggestions because I know for a fact that some folks are all for doing away with any and all inter-regional transportation systems other than running and mekback, so I expect anything that eliminates the need for a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong trek, even for those who made the trip so many times that they address each pebble, grass blade, and sand grain along the way by name, will meet with the sort of opposition that I just don't feel like fighting :/

I wholeheartedly agree with Luminatrix on occupation products . Most folks I know have absolutely no incentive whatsoever to do occupations at at all since the removal of faction point rewards for them. A few may use the q60/q70 scrolls, and I know a smaller handful that use Larvester produce, but I can count on one hand the number of people I have met who have ever had any use for any of the other products aside from "selling" them for faction points. Even then, the only ones who went past Grade 2 were Scrollmakers, completionists, and the truly bored. Whether they are actually useful items is irrelevant; the simple fact is that not many use them, period. I doubt the occupation-related sections of the Daily Missions will really change that either. Accordingly, I am of the opinion that unless occupation products get an overhaul or the Daily Mission rewards are stupendous, occupation-related missions and NH turn-ins can be placed on the back burner. There is no sense fixing something that will see less use than the Prospector missions.

If I'm reading the Daily Missions right about using the server time as the reference point, just bear in mind that East coast Americans/Canadians will have UTC cross that midnight line to a new day in the middle of their prime time. That may cause unintended consequences, so choose the daily mission timer offset wisely ;)

And lastly, congratulations to all the Marauders out there for this major step forward!

I always assumed something like that for the Kami (I assumed that the Karavan used their ships and didn't want to get them full of mek poop).

I used to think that NH worked similar to the Kama. However, after the last set of patches, the NH folks specifically tell me that they are preparing a mount for me. Then, I get a cut scene display showing a toon on a mount with *gasp* a packer following it and *double.gasp* other toons on foot. The take away from all of that is that NH is NOT using some magical means of teleporting me around.

So what is the RP reason that NH won't let my own mount and packers tag alone? Are they just mean spirited? Don't they like their fellow Homins? I'd be perfectly willing to pay extra to move my packers between Windermeer and Avendale.

I tend ot think of NH as the local inter-city bus line and the Kami/Kara as the cross- country train. It makes sense to me that NH doesn't transport between nations; it's far to dangerous and can't be done without encountering deadly kitins. The current routes within nations (at least for Lakes - I've never been anywhere else) can be traveled in perfect safety.

The way things work currently, letting NH transport a players mount and packers would make perfect sense and fit within any kind of RP definition.

Just my thoughts.

If it helps pick a time, remember that those of us in the Pacific time zone (West coast Americans) get our nightly Please Wait storm around 19:45-ish; about mid-evening. Those in the Midwest get it a little later, but still during peak time.

1 - Classical missions, occupations and NH

During the JY2603 patch, we started the implementation of a project to (re)highlight the game's 11,000 missions ( https://app.ryzom.com/app_forum/index.php?page=topic/view/29797/1 ).
However, it turned out that through overenthusiasm, we went a little too fast and withdrew the rewards of the old NH version a little too early, before we had properly upgraded and balanced the missions and occupations.

As a result, we have decided to bring the old version of NH back into play *temporarily*, which will allow us to:
  • no longer penalize players because of a release of the new version of NH made before missions and occupations are revalued and balanced
  • to give us time to revalue and properly balance the traditional missions and occupations.

Then we will put back in place the current version of NH.
Riasan (dev) is working this week to recode the old version of NH and it will be tested this weekend.

Q: In what way NH rewards were undervalued? The role of NH is transport, note providing of nation points.
A: It is the rewards of classical missions that are undervalued.

Don't know if my question is relevant for missions modifications, but it seems to me that when the merge occurred, the idea was to boost economy again. Namely give to dappers a value. It seems we come back to MP as means of exchange in Ryzom. That I link to missions, among other features.

ok, on the subject of NH and an earlier comment that suggested the main benefit to the old way of working was faction points (for Crystals or Generic Materials). This statement is incorrect in part.
Actually, players preferred the old way of working because it meant that, for perhaps 30 minutes, they could do occupations to gain dapper + factions points, after which they were free to enjoy their time on Atys doing whatever they pleased
So, actually, the old way of working supported freedom of choice
But, my question is this:

Q: We propose to put back *temporarily* the old NH system whilst we update the various missions, after which we'll go back to how things are currently. What steps will be put in place to make sure we don't repeat the same disaster as we did with the JY2603 patch?
A: We will proceed in several steps:
1 - restore the old version of NH.
2 - revalue and balance the missions, let you test them in game and give us your feedback.
3 - revalue and balance the occupations (perhaps by putting back the advanced occupations), let you test them in game and give us your feedback.
4 - Restore the current version of NH once points 2 and 3 are completed.

Q: So, you propose the run the old NH system in parallel to the re-balanced missions to allow players to test them, before re-removing the NH system again?
A: Yes

when all has been balanced and tested and found to be good
additionally the missions results (occupational) could be given new value as ingredients needed to other accomplishments
those improved occupational missions perhaps already do this? if so then the problems here feared do not come into being

the old status forces you to porten when the limit is reached so you can give up.
The new system brings a bad yield. both are not balanced systems.

yes It's why when we recoded the NH we made the change, but it was a emergency case, recoding NH like it was took more time than recode without rewards.
But doing like this created a hole in the rewards for players :)
This Nh system remains sensitive, it often remains blocked and is not very accessible to the CSR to see who gave what...

2 - Marauder gameplay

The new Marauder region under creation will be located near the Nexus and will be connected to it by a vortex.
The working group is in the process of adding vegetation to this new area, which is empty by default.
Important note: this new map is the first one we are creating from scratch, which is very promising for the future!
So we managed to reach the ultimate stage dreamed of when Ryzom Forge was created: "The last stage, called the New Zone project, will consist in the creation of a new game zone."
