Totally agreed! Of course, it's one of those things best done with multiple (preferably diverse) views so as to mitigate/avoid bias-induced blind spots. But yes, some discussion before spending time coding and debugging would save a lot of hassles.

I don't know about meks teleporting, but a service from the stables to transport meks to another stable in the same region for a fee would be interesting.

Q: Would it eventually be possible for NH to other lands for the mektoub? or if not that, then, say, treks to get them there or such like? perhaps to the captial city only.

A: The best part of ryzom is discovering, treks... This, can avoid this, not sure it's a good idea

On the other hand: the old way was that higher grades of occu gave higher rewards... a good idea to return to that i think.
A: Yes, but all the other missions have seen the increase in the number of dappers, which allows us to diversify the sources. The purpose of these changes and to allow other missions to have interest, the problem of trade donations to the NH is that players did not have to move up the ranks of the trade to have the dappers and reputations.

Perhaps players would also be more motivated to do occupations if the products were more useful. There is very little reason to go beyond grade 1 in most.  And a lot of occupations are just not worth doing at all.

For my part i haven't done missions as i said. For the reason that they're are of an atrocious complexity (occ i mean) and don't really motivate you to start over... water carrier for example, run in circles 3h, super!
A:  AH, okay..... No, some occupations are quite simple, such as water carrier for cartographers. What would a simple occupation be without its boring side?

2. Daily Missions

Basic Principle:
Every day, you have the opportunity to carry out seven missions in the order of your choice, randomly selected from all the "Task" missions and/or "Occupation product donation" missions.

A filtering option allows you to restrict the select-able missions according to the fames that you do not want to lower or raise.

You also have the option of completing only certain types of missions, but de-selecting missions may have an impact on your final gain.

You can abandon a mission at any time if you do not want to do it or do it later. However, this one is not replaced by another and will remain in the list of missions proposed for today.

Q: Missions have to be done within 24h or so in a day from 8am to 8am the next day for example?
A:Yes it's the server time that will be the reference a priori, but you'll have some every days: )[/p]

A: Yes, its intended :) ...  these are existing missions, but you will be able to filter the missions that will be proposed to you, this includes the occs too :)

Four filtering options are available:

- Filtering of the area in which to perform each type of mission:

Select here the level of the area (50 --> 250) in which you want to perform each type of mission (craft, forage, combat, exploration). If you choose the "None" option, then no mission of this kind wil be offered to you

- Filtering of fame that should not decrease:

Here, you have the option to apply a filter to remove from the list those missions that would cause you to lose some of your fame.
Thus, a Ranger should check all the boxes in the "Fame that you do not want to decrease" line.


- Filtering of fame that should not increase:

Here, you have an option to apply  filter to remove from the list those missions that would cause you or win some fame.
Thus, a Marauder should check all the boxes in the "Fame that you do not want to increase" line.


- Filtering of occupations:
Filter here which occupations can be offered to you. If you choose all of them, a maximum of four occupation missions can be randomly selected. Choosing all occupations considerably increases the reward

Note: Occupation missions do not require that you have the occupation active but only occupation products to give, including those obtained by exchange or purchase.

3. New Marauder Map

The graphics for the maps are done. We are currently adding vegetation in all new zone.

First, the entire marauding camp will be moved to a large area of the new map but not to the city, as the area that will host it will first have to be cleaned by the marauding PJs. Only then will the marauding NPCs reach their final location in the city area...

A:  So, I wouldn't say "so many things", the marauding gameplay was introduced a while ago, we have to finish it cleanly, it's still incomplete, hence the regular additions for this faction.

CoC is the general rules, but it also uses logic, assuming its tag, yes, but getting killed in a loop just for revenge doesn't make sense (even if the gameplay allows it). But we will try to clarify yes :)

Cloud.ryzom.com is our cloud (make sense xD) for projects like the Marauder City and the link are the Etherpad document with the todo list about it.
Just that :)

About Marauder zone, it's a project we will finish, and a good try to create a new complete zone.
So, it's for marauder but with goal to be able to add content for all players in a future.

I hope have time this summer to add more HOWTO videos about how create a map and other stuff for who want see more about our work ;)

As one who is chronically left out of these meetings because they occur around mid-day when I am either working or (on weekends) doing the errands I cannot do on other days, I just wanted to put my two dappers worth in here.

Normally, I would be opposed to teleporting meks. However, there is one thing that makes me conditionally favor it; the unique issues of getting a mek to/from Lakes, whether through Fount/BB/ToT or Loria/HH. Going between Desert and either Jungle or Forest is simpler, easier, and quicker than entering/leaving Lakes. Then again, I hesitate to make any suggestions because I know for a fact that some folks are all for doing away with any and all inter-regional transportation systems other than running and mekback, so I expect anything that eliminates the need for a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong trek, even for those who made the trip so many times that they address each pebble, grass blade, and sand grain along the way by name, will meet with the sort of opposition that I just don't feel like fighting :/

I wholeheartedly agree with Luminatrix on occupation products . Most folks I know have absolutely no incentive whatsoever to do occupations at at all since the removal of faction point rewards for them. A few may use the q60/q70 scrolls, and I know a smaller handful that use Larvester produce, but I can count on one hand the number of people I have met who have ever had any use for any of the other products aside from "selling" them for faction points. Even then, the only ones who went past Grade 2 were Scrollmakers, completionists, and the truly bored. Whether they are actually useful items is irrelevant; the simple fact is that not many use them, period. I doubt the occupation-related sections of the Daily Missions will really change that either. Accordingly, I am of the opinion that unless occupation products get an overhaul or the Daily Mission rewards are stupendous, occupation-related missions and NH turn-ins can be placed on the back burner. There is no sense fixing something that will see less use than the Prospector missions.

If I'm reading the Daily Missions right about using the server time as the reference point, just bear in mind that East coast Americans/Canadians will have UTC cross that midnight line to a new day in the middle of their prime time. That may cause unintended consequences, so choose the daily mission timer offset wisely ;)

And lastly, congratulations to all the Marauders out there for this major step forward!

I always assumed something like that for the Kami (I assumed that the Karavan used their ships and didn't want to get them full of mek poop).

I used to think that NH worked similar to the Kama. However, after the last set of patches, the NH folks specifically tell me that they are preparing a mount for me. Then, I get a cut scene display showing a toon on a mount with *gasp* a packer following it and *double.gasp* other toons on foot. The take away from all of that is that NH is NOT using some magical means of teleporting me around.

So what is the RP reason that NH won't let my own mount and packers tag alone? Are they just mean spirited? Don't they like their fellow Homins? I'd be perfectly willing to pay extra to move my packers between Windermeer and Avendale.

I tend ot think of NH as the local inter-city bus line and the Kami/Kara as the cross- country train. It makes sense to me that NH doesn't transport between nations; it's far to dangerous and can't be done without encountering deadly kitins. The current routes within nations (at least for Lakes - I've never been anywhere else) can be traveled in perfect safety.

The way things work currently, letting NH transport a players mount and packers would make perfect sense and fit within any kind of RP definition.

Just my thoughts.

If it helps pick a time, remember that those of us in the Pacific time zone (West coast Americans) get our nightly Please Wait storm around 19:45-ish; about mid-evening. Those in the Midwest get it a little later, but still during peak time.

1 - Missions classiques, métiers et NH

Lors du patch JY2603, nous avons débuté la mise en jeu d'un projet visant à (re)mettre en valeur les quelques 11 000 missions du jeu ( https://app.ryzom.com/app_forum/index.php?page=topic/view/29797/1 ).
Toutefois , il s'est avéré que par excès d'enthousiasme, nous sommes allés un peu trop vite et avons retiré un peu trop tôt les récompenses liées à l'ancienne version de NH, avant d'avoir correctement revalorisé et équilibré les missions et les métiers.

Par conséquent, nous avons décidé de remettre temporairement en jeu l'ancienne version de NH, ce qui permettra :
  • de ne plus pénaliser les joueurs à cause d'une mise en jeu de la nouvelle version de NH faite avant que les missions et métiers ne soient revalorisés et équilibrés
  • de nous laisser le temps de revaloriser et d'équilibrer correctement les missions classiques et les métiers.

Ensuite nous remettrons en place la version actuelle de NH.
Riasan (dev) travaille cette semaine à recoder l'ancienne version de NH et elle sera mise en test ce week-end.

Q: En quoi les récompense de NH étaient sous-évaluées ? NH a pour role le transport, pas de monter ses points de nations !
A: Ce sont les récompenses des missions classiques qui sont sous-évaluées.

Je ne sais pas si ma question est pertinente vis à vis des modifications des missions, mais il me semble que lors de la fusion une des idées était de réhabiliter l'économie, à savoir un dapper avec une valeur, j'ai le sentiment qu'on revient aux matières premières comme moyen d’échange à Ryzom. Que je lie aux missions, entre autres fonctionnalités.

En fait pour être précis, ce n'est pas tant les dappers que le NH rapportait mais surtout les points de nation, nécessaires pour acheter des cristaux ou des MP génériques , nous avons entrepris une revalorisation des missions d'Atys et NH en fait partie, mais tant qu'on n'a pas achevé le rééquilibrage, les points de nation de NH manquent au joueurs. :)

S'agissant du sujet NH et d'un commentaire affirmant que le principal intérêt de l'ancien fonctionnement résidait dans les points de nation, je m'inscris en faux, au moins en partie.
En fait, les joueurs préféraient l'ancien fonctionnement parce que, après 30 minutes à exercer leur métier pour gagner des points et des dappers, ils pouvaient jouir d'Atys comme ils l'entendaient. Ainsi, l'ancien fonctionnement respectait la liberté de chacun.

Q: Votre proposition de revenir temporairement à l'ancien fonctionnement, très bien. Mais il faudra veiller à ce qu'au rétablissement du fonctionnement actuel nous ne subissions pas le même désastre que lors du Patch2603.
A: Nous allons procéder en plusieurs étapes :
1 - remettre l'ancienne version de NH ;
2 - revaloriser et équilibrer les missions, vous laisser les tester en jeu et nous faire vos retours ;
3 - revaloriser et équilibrer les métiers (peut-être en remettant les métiers avancés), vous laisser les tester en jeu et nous faire vos retours ;
4 - remettre la version actuelle de NH une fois que les points 2 et 3 seront terminés.

Q: Donc, vous proposez de rétablir l'ancien système de NH pendant que vous rééquilibrerez les missions en permettant aux joueurs de tester ces dernières, avant de supprimer de nouveau l'ancien système NH ?
A: Oui.

S'il y a des missions utilisant les métiers, le point 4 est superflu. Car personne ne l'utilisera s'il en existe un meilleur que le système NH actuel. Ainsi, s'il y a des missions utilisant les métiers, NH doit utiliser un nouveau système ou disparaître.

Suggestion : lorsque tout aura été rééquilibré et testé et jugé correct, alors les produits des métiers pourraient se voir attribuer une nouvelle valeur pour la réalisation d'autres objectifs.
Peut-être ces missions mettant en jeu les métiers font elles déjà ça ? Si c'est le cas les problèmes qui nous inquiètent ici n'ont pas lieu de le faire.

Hmm je pense que la traduction ne fonctionne pas correctement, mais oui, le NH ne doit pas sortir "il mourra, car personne ne l'utilisera avec l'état actuel.
L'ancien statut vous oblige à le porter lorsque la limite est atteinte pour que vous puissiez abonner.
Le nouveau système apporte un mauvais rendement. Les deux ne sont pas des systèmes équilibrés.

Je vais essayer de répondre à tout le monde.
Oui, c'est pour cela que lorsque nous avons recodé le NH, nous avons fait le changement, mais c'était un cas d'urgence, recoder le NH comme il était prenait plus de temps que recoder sans récompenses.
Mais faire ainsi a créé un trou dans les récompenses pour les joueurs.
Le système reste très sensible est était souvent bloqué et pas très accessible aux CSR pour savoir qui avait donné quoi.

L'ancien système sans plafond de 3000 et un peu moins de récompense, alors tout le monde a le libre choix, n'est pas limité en permanence si 3-4 personnes donnent en même temps et obtiennent toujours une récompense utilisable.

Pour Freddy: il y a beaucoup de façons d’augmenter ta notoriété jusqu’à 50, NH était si facile, il a été utilisé au détriment de toutes les missions consacrées à la renommée. :p

2 - Gameplay maraudeur

La nouvelle région maraudeure en création se trouvera près du Nexus et sera reliée à celui-ci par un vortex.
Le groupe de travail est en train d'ajouter de la végétation sur cette nouvelle zone, qui est vide par défaut.
Remarque importante : cette nouvelle carte est la première que nous créons de toutes pièces, ce qui est très prometteur pour la suite !
Nous avons donc réussi à atteindre l'étape ultime rêvée lors de la création de Ryzom Forge : "La dernière étape, nommée projet New Zone, consistera en la création d'une nouvelle zone de jeu."
