Ryzom Forge Meeting report - 2018-01-15

This year is starting well as Ulukyn, who has almost completed the Ark Editor, is once again very available for the teams. As a result, projects that have been blocked for a long time because of a dev reason are relaunched and progress is made.

1-Graphics group

Aileya: Thanks primarily to Teanwen, the graphics team can now work with the latest version of 3DS Max (2018). Unfortunately, so far, it is just usable for newly created files/objects, due to a bug where the NeL Plugin do not handle all parts of the textures properly
BUT this is improving any kind of workflow a lot (with new stuff mainly, so far)

2-Roadmap 2018

I’m currently working on Ryzom’s roadmap for 2018. It should be published in several days.
I'll tell you about it after its publication, but here's an overview of it:

In test: Ranger rite, fix of marauder rite, Opening of Silan from Mainland, add new item stats overload (that permits to easily modify item stats before to release it.).

Work in progress: Ark Editor (to create Pocket Worlds), opening of Silan from Mainland, Thesos new defence towers, OOC marauder quest, Kitin dynamic invasions, Purple Gubani events, Marauder gameplay fix & improvement.

Waiting: light matis marauder boss, goo boss, random reward system (wheel of fortune), sell reward system (with Atys Points won in events), new rewards, addition of missions written by Ryzom Forge.

Done (already!): add new resistance overload (it’s now possible to modify the resistances of a mob using an Ark script, without modifying its primitives. That means we’ll be able to spawn stronger mobs/NPCs in events, withouts ading them millions od HPs.)

3-Atysmas events: feedbacks

Q: Have you liked Atysmas events (Music event, Mega boss, Mr Snow)?

Music event
A: As for me, I would like to be able to share the music sheets with several peoples at once, so that they can all "listen" to me at the same time. Currently, I can only share it with 3 peoples. And I have to copy it by hand first.

A: The music sheets is in very early stage and what you have seen was the very first real test (beside of bug fixes on test server)

Mr. Snow
A: I really liked Mr. Snow.

Mega Boss
A: Megaboss was too long. The rewards were nice. But spending a three-hour night fitghting or healing is too much for me.

A: The Mega Boss has been designed with feedback from Anlor Ween's Valcorenoch in mind. The next one will be corrected to adapt to the number of players taking part. I would like to thank TeanWeen (new Level-Design member and Ark scriptwriter) for taking over my holidays.

4-Scenario Editor

The Ark editor, which will allow to create Pocket Worlds, will be soon in beta testing on Yubo. The testing phase will be open to everyone from Ryzom Forge
The players who want to come and test will have to ask. (An official announcement will be done).

Location of Ryzom Forge Meetings

Tamarea: I'd like to move the Ryzom Forge meeting on an ingame channel, to reach more people and allow you to play and follow the meetings at the same time
For that, I've asked that the max number of dynamic channels be risen, so that you don't have to close another /channel to follow this one.

ADDED ON ATYS: Opening of Silan from Mainland

Let's start with the recent change on Atys: access to Silan from Mainland.

On our side everything went well. I would also like to thank the whole team that worked on this, including the Ryzom Forge testers.
Two pieces of information:
- The Apple Store will not update the client until March. So until then, Mac users wishing to return to Silan will have to update their client via the official Ryzom website (https://ryzom.com/)
- If you return to Silan without having done at least one welcomer mission AND without having at least one Mainland TP in your bag, you will be stuck there and will need to ask a Support member to help you. This will be fixed in about two weeks.

ADDED ON ATYS: [Marauder event] The Mysterious Four

Let's move on to the second addition on Atys: the temporary mission "The Mysterious Four", reserved for Marauders, which will end this weekend. This OOC mission is equivalent to that of the non-Marauders "Mr. Snow", which was not accessible to Marauders.

Info: Marauders who had not got their dappers reward because of a bug must use the 'mysterious pearl' again to get them.

IN TEST: Ranger Rite

Let's talk about the big project that is in final test: the addition of the Rite Ranger.

Everything is 95% ready, there are only a few translations and small adjustments to make. If everything goes as planned, the rite should be added in game within about two weeks.

 

IN TEST: Fix of Marauder Rite

The marauder rite currently ingame bugs a lot. That's why Ryzom Forge worked on its fix, which is in testing phase. There are only a few adjustments to make before to add it ingame.

 

READY TO BE TESTED: “Pocket Worlds Creator”

The closed beta of Pocket World Creator will start on February 28th. An official announcement will be published early this weekend.

A little bit of information while waiting for the announcement:
We call "Pocket Worlds Creator" the duo Scenographic Editor/Scnenario Editor. The PoWo Creator will allow you not only to decorate the island of your choice, but also to add creatures, NPCs, and even dialogues and missions.
The official announcement will give you much more details, and willexplain what to do if you want to participate in this closed beta.

AJOUTÉ SUR ATYS : rite ranger

Le rite Ranger est ajouté en jeu depuis le 23 mars 2018. La Faction Ranger existe enfin officiellement !
Le rite se prend sur Silan et se déroule sur une “nouvelle” carte du jeu (inutilisée), représentant une partie de le Route de l'Exode.

AJOUTÉ SUR ATYS : carte ranger & Voies

Le rite ranger permet aussi d'accéder au système complet de transport ranger (via des tunnels, y compris dans les zones 250). Il faut pour cela prendre une mission au camp Ranger d'Almati puis chercher les entrées des tunnels.

AJOUTÉ SUR ATYS : Events HRP de Pâques

La chasse aux petits œufs est ouverte depuis hier à travers tout Atys, elle se terminera dimanche 8 avril.
Vous avez peut-être remarqué que les oeufs apparus le 1er avril étaient... étranges... 1er avril oblige !

Quatre chasses aux oeufs géants (une par nation) vient de débuter, avec un oeuf à trouver par région.
Elles dureront aussi jusqu'à dimanche 8 avril inclus. Je publierai l’annonce après la réunion de Ryzom Forge.

AJOUTÉ SUR ATYS : Tours de défense de Thesos

Les tours et leur muraille ont été ajoutées lors du dernier patch ! Vous ne les voyez pas encore car elles seront introduites lors d'un prochain event fyros.

PRÊT À ÊTRE AJOUTÉ : Nouveau Code de Conduite de Ryzom

Il est entièrement traduit et prêt à être publié, ce qui devrait être fait bientôt.

 

EN TEST : Pocket Worlds Creator "(test bêta fermé)

EN TEST: Correctif du rite maraudeur

Il est toujours en test (il était en pause durant les tests du Rite ranger).
Il reste des ajustements à faire (les gardes anti-maraudeurs de Fairhaven se liguent pour faire échouer les futurs maraudeurs !)
